There's a lot fans didn't get to see in Justice League after Joss Whedon trimmed the film down and decided to devote screentime to a Russian family on the run from Steppenwolf. Entire subplots were removed, while characters like Ryan Choi, Iris West, and Martian Manhunter all ended up being cut.
The biggest casualty, however, was Darkseid.
The iconic comic book villain was meant to play a small, but key role in Zack Snyder's film, appearing in visions, the final act, and that battle on Earth for the Mother Boxes that would have taken place thousands of years ago (as Uxas).
While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder talked about his excitement for the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, and mentioned that fans can "expect Darkseid" in his cut of the movie. The filmmaker has shared images of the villain before, while it's previously been confirmed that Ray Porter played him.
We've caught glimpses of Uxas in the past, but most fans are keen to see how he was depicted in the present. Had Snyder been given the opportunity to make Justice League: Part 2, Darkseid would have been the lead villain, with Superman under his control thanks to the Anti Life Equation.
