JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder Has Added Only Two New Scenes, One Of Which Features The Joker

Zack Snyder has clarified what Justice League's reshoots actually added to the "Snyder Cut," saying there are two new scenes, one of which revolves around Jared Leto's Joker. Hit the jump for details...

Much has been said about Justice League's second round of reshoots, and with names like Ben Affleck, Ezra Miller, and Amber Heard all reportedly involved, it feels like they're going to add a lot to the movie. However, in a new interview with Comic Book Debate, Zack Snyder pointed out that he's only actually shot two additional scenes for the DC Comics adaptation.

"A very small portion of the movie is the new stuff that I shot," Snyder says. "Like 80-something percent of the movie has never been seen by anyone, visual effects wise, and that's not even including the scenes that you guys have never seen that don't have visual effects. That part's really exciting, and I can't wait for everyone to experience this giant scale adventure the way I intended."

Snyder would go on to say that he assembled the cast to shoot one sequence which has not been revealed, and another which brings Jared Leto back as The Joker.

"First of all, let's just clarify, there's like two bits that I added. One bit that I had really sort of hoped to shoot in post but never got the chance to, and then one scene with Jared. This whole little piece with Jared. The truth is, the rest of the four hours of the movie are really just what I shot."

"The truth is I was in a struggle with the studio, you know, and famously we had a lot of stuff we had to do, and make it funny, and all that stuff," the filmmaker continued. "I just kind of, in a slightly subversive way, just kept also doing my thing at the same time so I would have, what I believed would be closer to what I wanted to do without any influence."

If we had to hazard a guess, that mystery scene could involve Martian Manhunter, a cameo we know Snyder hoped to shoot for the theatrical cut. Alternatively, it might feature characters like Green Lantern or Deathstroke, or even something that wraps up the director's vision for the DC Extended Universe.
