WONDER WOMAN And JUSTICE LEAGUE Actress Brooke Ence On The Skimpier Amazon Costume Controversy

Over the last couple of days, there's been backlash over the perception that The Amazons in Justice League are garbed in skimpier outfits than they were in Wonder Woman, & Brooke Ence has now responded...

If you've been on social media over the last two days, chances are you heard something about the backlash that arose from a side-by-side comparison of The Amazons as they appeared in Patty Jenkins Wonder Woman, and an image of the warrior women posing beside The Batmobile in Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The perception was that Snyder had made the armor more revealing, but a little bit of research would have brought to light that these skimpier outfits were also donned by The Amazons in Wonder Woman. Not only that, but reports from those that have seen Justice League confirm that most of Diana's people do actually wear the more formidable armor into battle.

USA Today decided to reach out to actress and CrossFit champion Brooke Ence, who plays an Amazon in both films and does wear a slightly more revealing version of her original outfit in JL. Ence told them that the change "didn't bother me at all," and that,  "the girls on set never thought of (the new costumes) as a sexy version."

"I’m an athlete first, right? (Usually,) I can’t wear anything without someone commenting about my (muscular) body. So for me, it was actually really cool to be able to show it and not immediately feel masculine, but still very feminine."

What do you guys make of this whole hullabaloo? Manufactured controversy, or is there something to the male's gaze changing the way an Amazon warrior looks?
