Director Alejandra López has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe if a Facebook post from the filmmaker is to be believed. As you can see below, López confirmed that her next project has taken her to Burbank, California, and accompanied that with a photo of herself in a studio with the Marvel logo displayed clearly above her head.
There's no word on what project she's involved with, but each of the officially announced Phase 4 movies have directors at this stage. It also seems unlikely that López is working on something like Blade or the X-Men and Fantastic Four reboots this soon.
There are plenty of options on Disney+, of course, and it's possible she's one of the unannounced directors working on WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, or even upcoming releases like Moon Knight and She-Hulk. Whatever the case may be, this post has generated a lot of wild speculation online about what she's been tasked with working on.
López isn't a huge name in the directing world, and is perhaps best known for helming short film The Blue Cape (she's also directed shorts ADDitude and Fulano). The filmmaker has writing and acting experience as well, so it remains to be seen what she'll bring to this shared world.
