Despite some quantity-over-quality issues during the Multiverse Saga, the MCU continues to draw massive interest from moviegoers and comic book fans. That goes some way in explaining why we get so many rumours about its future and we're back today with another roundup.
We start with information shared by Jeff Sneider. He chimes in on some recent rumblings about the MCU, including that latest report about Captain America: Brave New World needing only 22 days of reshoots (read more about that here).
Sneider believes more additional photography is planned for later in 2024 and notes, "From what I’ve heard, it's going to take a lot more than 22 days to fix everything that’s wrong with this movie."
Another supposedly troubled MCU project is Blade. First announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the reboot has been through multiple writers and directors and, as we write this, still seems no closer to happening.
We've heard quite a bit of concerned chatter in recent days, but Sneider insists that Mahershala Ali is not leaving Blade and remains as invested in the character as he's ever been. Like Marvel Studios, it seems he just wants to get this movie right.
Finally, the scooper shares what he's heard about Spider-Man 4. Sneider believes Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have never been in the mix to helm Spider-Man 4 and claims they were removed from Ms. Marvel's post-production process for being challenging to work with.
That contradicts much of what we've heard about their time on the Disney+ series. Plus, after Batgirl was scrapped, they even shared an email of support sent to them by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
Next, we move to @MyTimeToShineH. After their recent 300 TV series scoop was proven correct, we're willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with this rumour: apparently, singer Taylor Swift will not be in Deadpool & Wolverine after all.
If accurate, Marvel Studios is going to disappoint a great many Swifties who had been excited to see her suit up as Dazzler.
The leaker claims that Lucasfilm is keen to bring Swift into the Star Wars franchise; interestingly, Madame Web star Sydney Sweeney is also said to be in the mix for a role in a Galaxy Far, Far Away (making this even more intriguing is the fact both women are supposedly in talks for Scarlett Johansson's The Blonde Phantom Disney+ TV series).
