Disney And Fox Have Reportedly Reentered Negotiations; An Official Announcement Could Be Imminent

We were told that talks had died down between Disney and 21st Century Fox, but now we're hearing that both studios have reentered negotiations and an offcial announcement could be made any day now...

Fans had all-but lost hope that Disney's planned acquisitions of 21st Century Fox's roster of Marvel character could finally lead to the likes of The X-Men and The Fantastic Four showing up in The MCU at some point, but we now have some (potentially) great news.

According to Deadline, talks have begun to progress rapidly and both sides have gone dark, leading to speculation that a deal is very close to being made.

Disney is progressing speedily toward that rumored acquisition of Fox. The version I heard has the Murdoch clan keeping possession of sports and news properties, and the rest of TV and the film studio going to Disney.

This deal could obviously lead to a comic book fan's dream scenario, but there are those that aren't so enthusiastic about the prospect now that Fox has begun to make such great strides with risky, R-rated projects such as Deadpool and Logan.

At any rate, it's probably best not to get too carried away until we hear something official - but that announcement could be with us very soon, so keep an eye out!
