In A Shocking Move, Marvel Studios' Jeremy Latcham Is Departing For A New Gig At 20th Century Fox
One of Kevin Feige's inner circle that's been around since the MCU's inception is defecting leaving for 20th Century Fox. Will he be spearheading development on X-Men and the Fantastic Four?
It seems Jeremy Latcham has taken his last Marvel Studios summer retreat.
During a 2012 episode of the This Week In Marvel podcast, Latcham detailed how Kevin Feige first noticed him back when he was just an assistant to then Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel (just before Disney's acquistion of Marvel). Under Feige's watch, Latcham rose from Marvel Studios Story Editor, to Associate Producer, Executive Producer and eventually Senior Vice President. During that same podcast he also revealed that every summer he, Feige, Stephen Broussard and Craig Kyle would rent a house out in California and brainstorm the future direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With Latcham leaving Marvel for 20th Century Fox, the natural assumption would be that he's going to head up development on the studio's Marvel properties. However, The Wrap reports that Latcham will oversee original projects as he sets up his own studio but one has to wonder how long before the studio places Latcham in charge of their X-Men and Fantastic Four properties- especially if Simon Kinberg struggles with X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
