While it was always set for an IMAX release, it's now been confirmed that The Mummy will indeed open on IMAX 3D & RealD 3D screens worldwide on June 9, which should certainly bode well for its box office run.
With the NBA Playoffs finally getting underway last weekend, Universal Pictures has debuted two new spots for their upcoming Tom Cruise-starrer. The first sheds more light on Ahmanet's past as Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll explains to Cruise's "Nick Morton" that pyramids were not actually constructed as tombs, but as prisons.
The second spot is light on footage but is a pretty cool tie-in promotion as Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas, Washington Wizards guard John Wall, and Los Angeles Clippers center Deandre Jordan all face the wrath of Sofia Boutella's titular monster.

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
