In one week, prepare to enter a whole new age of Gods and Monsters with The Mummy.

The Universal Pictures production is headlined by 3x Academy Award-nominated superstar Tom
Cruise, who stars as the mysterious "Nick Morton," a character many have suggested may have more to him than meets the eye. The most popular theory being that Morton may actually be a descendant of the famed monster hunter Van Helsing and while the studio has kept all Dark Universe secrets close to the chest, there have been unconfirmed rumblings coming out of international premieres that there may be some truth to it, although we probably won't know anything for sure until its domestic debut on June 8.

Five new clips have been released, providing us with a much better look at some of the intense action sequences and the horrifying elements of the upcoming Alex Kurtzman-directed feature. Check them out below::

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy features:
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Tom Cruise as Nick Morton
Sofia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet/The Mummy
Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey
Jake Johnson as Sgt. Chris Vail
Courtney B. Vance as Colonel Greenway
Russell Crowe as Dr. Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde
Marwan Kenzari as Malik
Javier Botet as Set
Selva Rasalingam as King Menehptre
Dylan Smith as Lorenzo Montanari
Rez Kempton as Foreman
Chasty Ballesteros as Kira Lee

There's only one cinematic universe that I want to see dead more than this 'Dark Universe', the Transformers universe.

@jprivaoca - A lot of people have hatred in them and feel the desire to direct it toward someone or something.

I read here the other day someone hated Karen Page's character in Daredevil and wanted some really horrible things done to her. Which is kinda of weird and jacked up, because the person who came to this site to inform of us his evil wishes, let us know that he is worse than Karen. So, maybe he should wish more horrible things on him. Or realize he has a problem with hatred.

@SHFL - Preach.

@SHFL - Yeah. It seems like that kind of hate pops up on here all the time but only to the female love interests. Whether it's Karen as you said, Iris on the Flash, Felicity on Arrow, etc. I just don't get it. Yeah, their plots may not be the most necessary but it's not like everything has to do with stopping the bad guy. It's not like we hate on Foggy for example for doing the same thing. It comes across as a kid complaining about "girly" things in their action shows.

@Origame - That's a good point. And I don't believe that everyone who does this really even knows they are doing this. To bond with others who are like them (which is really strong) can be as subconscious as attacking those who are not like them.

It was probably 1989 when my father showed me Lon Cheney Sr's, The Phantom of the Opera. That lit the flame.

So ready to start this new universe.

I liked the Ahmanet origin clip, but it's ruined by the stupid expository voiceover (god I hate these backstory dump sequences) and their inability to get something that even Gods of Egypt got right! Set is not the god of death!
