Well this is a surprise! Marvel has just announced that there will be another Avengers film titled Avengers: War of Atlantis set to be released on May 6th, 2022! The film will pit the Wakandans against the Atlanteans as their two leaders, Black Panther & Namor, lead their epic clash! Chadwick Boseman will be returning as the King of Wakanda while Luke Evans has been cast to play the King of Atlantis! Idris Elba has also been cast in an unknown role (Heimdall?) in the film. Check out the full press release below!

Marvel Studios presents Avengers: War of Atlantis, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. We've seen heroes battle each other and we've seen heroes clash with beings from out of this world. However, when superheroes happen to be the heads of state, and when the two of them fighting each other involves official national declarations of war, things get a lot more interesting.

The film returns Chadwick Boseman in his fouth outing as the tactical, powerful, King of Wakanda (and leader of The New Avengers) T'Challa/Black Panther. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will also be introduced to a new king who will head in to battle with Wakanda as fan favorite, Luke Evans has been cast as the King of Atlantis, Namor! Idris Elba is also set to star in the film. Produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel's Avengers: War of Atlantis is set for release in the United States on May 6th, 2022.

Namor is one of my favorite underrated(is he underrated, though?) characters in Marvel. But I'd rather he appear in Fantastic four(in the MCU), that is if they ever get that back. But I think his fixation on Sue in particular is compelling given her strong, smart, female tendencies and Namor's very lusty, black and white treatment of her. He could be a villain/ side character in an arc that involved Doom because Namor and Doom(I ship them, teeeheee....too weird?) are bros, for the most part at least. There could be a really neat plot that involved Atlantis, Doom wanting Atlantis's advanced tech, Namor reaching out to Doom so he can Kill Reid simply to further his own goals to "bed" sue. He can become "good" in the end, but he should be an ass regardless whether he is the villain or hero, he is arguably the first anti hero in comic books, not to mention the first to fly, as well as the true king of Atlantis.

Dammit, @NovaCorpsFan! I saw "Marvel Announces" & "Luke Evans Cast as NAMOR" and got so excited I didn't notice the "Fan Fic" part!! hahahahaha

Obviously, I'm for this.

And it's worth mentioning, Luke Evans has a history with Universal Studios, who own Namor's film rights. So, I wouldn't be surprised if one of Universal's stipulations for Disney to include Namor in the MCU, is Universal gets to cast the lead.
And if Universal & Disney make a deal, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if the deal included collaborations on both Namor & Hulk solo films. (Like Disney & Sony's Spidey deal, but it won't be free, money is guaranteed to be involved in this deal.)

I mean, how can Universal or Disney look at this Luke Evans photo & not think he'd make a great Namor???

The best way to introduce Namor is in Captain America: The Invaders. Cap and Bucky go on a secret mission for the SSR, the mission being rescue an Atlantien princess who was abducted by Baron Zemo of Hydra.

Cap and Bucky team up with the android Human Torch, and the Atlantien princesses adolescent son Namor. Namor is going against his grandfather/kings orders of not rescuing hid mother and staying out of the surface dwellers war.

The Invaders rescue Namor's mother, Cap defeats Zemo personally and scars Zemo's face with acid. Despite Namor rescuing his mother the princess, Namor also disobeyed his kings orders. As punishment his grandfather/king sentences him to banishment in tne artic north to, he is frozen much like Cap and slowly ages.

A great after credit scene would be Atlantiens visiting Namors frozen body, paying tribute to him as a hero.

Imperious Rex!!!!

Also I like Evans but he doesn't fit Namor. Namor doesn't need to be huge but he should kind of be able to see eye to eye with Thor, to show Atlantiens are phyt imposing like Asgardians. I would want someone just taller than Evans. Not sure who though.

Thumbs up as well.

This would be awesome. I would love to see a New Avengers team led by Black Panther after Infinity War. Featuring Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Maybe some other current Avengers too like Scarlet Witch. Wouldn't mind seeing Bucky as Cap in there either I guess haha
