ver.9.1		Many of you suggested if we could divide the fighters into weight divisions. I personally find this difficult but I am interested in doing this. (Though implementing it would be far off in the future so for the mean time we'll just put it into votes). Here's one possible way in classifying the characters. Fenix122/Hush2010, actually came up with a great idea on how to classify them I just tweaked the idea a little: Characters with no powers just skills and a few gadgets (Natural Lightweights - Batman, Punisher, Green Hornet and Kato,...). Characters with one set of power/enhancement, or heightened natural abilities(Natural Middleweights - Captain America [supersoldier serum], Iron Man, Black Canary, Sheena, Wolverine...). Characters with Multiple sets of non-related powers or "Super-strong guys" or Cosmic beings (Natural Heavyweights - Thor, Hulk, Colossus, Superman, Darkseid, Hellboy,...).

From ravennpilot: The weight classes can be fixed after a few battles. I think of combat sports for the answer. If you are destroying everyone in the weight class step up for a challenge. If your being out classed then step out. Find a happy center.
My suggestion is characters start at their "Natural" weight division. Using their fight percentages if they hit a certain number they can either go up a division or go down.

So, how exactly does Silver Surfer lose to Batman then beat Superman? Seriously these bat-nuts have gone way too far, Batman is quite impressive but really guys? Surfer easily takes them both any day. WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END!! The "He's the Batman" stuff needs to stop. I'm not throwing a fit or anything it's just madness.

1. I voted for Doctor Octopus-Xenomorph is vicious and extreme, but I'm pretty sure Doc Ocks Tentacles are strong enough to rip him apart.

2. I'm still undecided-I see many scenarios where either one wins, i gotta think more.

3. I voted for the Punisher-ONLY because there is prep, he can just buy earplugs. Any other time Canary wins.

Xenomorph's a movie character. Didn't vote.

Vader's a movie character. Didn't vote.

Black Canary vs Punisher -- keeping with my long-standing position that Punisher is nothing more than a vastly over-rated thug with a gun, I give this one to BC. He may be armed but he's still only human. Unlike Black Widow, who BC's gone up against in Fight Club, Castle doesn't have access to the most advanced defensive gear on the planet, so plain ol' earplugs aren't going to work. The second he goes for a pistol, BC lets loose a canary cry and Castle hits the ground bleeding from his ears. And good riddance, far as I'm concerned.

I have read the Punisher since his introduction (buying the original ASM). I didn't like him then… And I still don't like the character. I have enjoyed Wolverine, especially the original version, but being old school I don't like my heroes killing.

I should clarify I've never purchased the Punisher's own magazine. I have to say Spiderman was tough to read in the mid-70s… Mind worm, Rocket Racer, the Jackal, Will –O- Wisp were hard for me to take seriously, even though I bought every issue. John Byrnes run on Marvel team up was much more enjoyable to me.

When a Canary Cry can hit someone a half a mile away and nullify them, then I can say Black Canary wins.

This is a Prep Time Scenerio people. Yes, she's smart. Yes, HE'S smart. This begs the question, who is a more public and easily located figure? In essence, can she use her resources to get close enough to render him useless before he can LOCATE her and blow her head off at 1/2 a mile away.

His sphere of potential is greater than hers is, in my opinion.

Narrow victory- Punisher.

@SpideyQuad -- my thoughts exactly about Punisher. A hero only kills when there is no other option; it's not supposed to be their first move. Otherwise you're just a murderer.

However, I used to be a big fan of Wolverine back in the 80s; he would kill, yes, but his arc in the X-Men comics at the time was that of a man who was learning how NOT to kill. What they've done with the character since then has just pissed me off. No way is he undefeatable, and fifteen years ago, no way would he survive something like being ripped in half. That character's just a joke to me now.

As for last week's results, sorry, folks, but there's no way Batman beats Daredevil. Batman may dress like a bat but DD's powers pretty much MAKE him a bat -- a bat who just so happens to be one of the top two or three most exquisite hand-to-hand fighters in the entire MU. Bats can't win that fight.

Just a note on Soundwave travel in the Black Canary fight- 300 Db is seriously destructive, BUT as sound travels it loses energy- double the distance, 1/4 the Db. Her power is AMAZING at short range. But as the intended target gets further away, it becomes less impressive. Combine this with other factors like air temp, intervening structure, and sheer distance, I think Punisher has this one.

Black Canary is a master of hand to hand combat. She is NOT a master of dodging bullets, grenades,or buildings loaded with C4.

Totally off-topic, but going back to the Batman/Spider-Man fight a few of us were discussing a couple days ago, I was just reading an old OHOTMU and I got my facts wrong. Spidey's speed, reaction time and reflexes aren't 10x the average human. They're FIFTEEN x the average human.

So as it turns out Bats stands even LESS than the already zero chance I gave him.

I think you guys are underestimating the Punisher, (we all have opinions and in NO way am I trying to bash yours) at minimum he's just below Batman in terms if fighting skill. I would agree that he takes the killing a little overboard. (He's basically an altered serial killer, a serial killer who only kills baddies) but he's got a vast knowledge of weapons and explosives, etc. his fans get real annoying just like Bat-fans, and I'm not really a huge punisher fan. But I'm saying Punisher wins this fight because he gets prep time, and he's not an idiot like you guys are making him sound. He can just find a way to protect himself from screams. I mean his genius is about half of Batmans genius. He will find armor or weapons to do it. Again any other day Canary wins but today they get prep so I say Punisher.

Frank never lets himself get into a hand fight with her. Frank doesn't let himself within 10 feet of her. The Canary Cry is incredibly powerful- and Frank knows that. Canary supporters assume this is a hand to hand short range fight. It's not, and would likely never be. It would be more about who can find who first- who is the most public and would be likely to be seen first.

If Canary has ANY place where she is usually seen, that's it. End of Story. It will be about how to destroy the building while she is in it or shoot her when she comes out.

Frank doesn't really have a "base of operations" and isn't the sort to stay in one place long enough to be associated with it.

I'm not saying Punisher's stupid; the character is intelligent. But c'mon, guys -- you put him up against another human character like Bullseye or Daredevil and he should be having his ass handed two him at least ten different ways, yet they routinely have him hanging against people like Spider-Man and Captain America, two characters who would make even shorter work of him than DD or Bullseye. Even for comic fans, that goes above asking us to suspend our disbelief; it's asking us to ignore it completely.

I stand by my argument that Punisher's a vastly over-rated thug.

here are my picks.. Doc Ock, Superman, Punisher..
No Marvel never claimed Punisher was a hero. He has always an anti-hero. That means he fights bad guys ,but does whatever it takes to take them out. He believe if they are dead, then they can't get back on the streets to harm innocent people.He's doing what he thinks needs to be done and he's the only one willing to get his hands dirty. Spider-man gets the bad guys like Rhino or Doc Ock arrested they break out rob and kill more people.. and the cycle keeps repeating. Punisher says to himself .. these people are scum, they murdered my family and when they are arrested they gets rights..where was the rights to protect my family.. so he does what the cops and other heroes won't do.. he knows it wrong but he always know he can't leave them people on the streets.

The whole Punisher comic is a product of a time when people wanted to see harsh justice. Running thugs off to jail only to have them escape again in 6 issues was growing tiring for readers, and he came as a shock to the system- What made him unique is the very same thing that viewiers of Dexter find unique- He kills the killers. Mentally off balanced.

His disadvantages ARE his advantages. Homeless? No one can find you. Full of rage from pain and loss? Become a casual killer to enact vengence on your torment.

Yeah, he's a thug. Why is he a thug? Because he is in pain. A lot of people in pain identify with him for that reason.

Now, I agree with you in the respect that he's not a role model, uplifting, or even all that entertaining to read for any length of time. But this contest is about strategy. Knowing who has what abilities, what psychological strengths, weaknesses, and all the other factors that go into a successful fight.

I am curious how you would reconcile a Black Canary win at range.

Since this is their second fight, Punisher has deduced enough information to know that if he's up close he's gonna get creamed. This a rematch, Punishet keeps his distance and shoots her. He's smart enough to realize that up close he stands no chance.

Cuz Cap is at LEAST twice the fighter that Batman, and he has tons more combat experience.
He took down Thor, and can mess with even the likes of Hulk. He's a better fighter and a better man.

And Daredevil can beat Batman, and Cap makes short work of Daredevil. Therefore, Cap makes short work of Bats. Batman is impressive but overrated IMO.

I don't know if this helps Jackson, but Wikipedia has a strength list, or list by different strength categories. As far as I know it's only for Marvel characters. Interesting nevertheless.

First thing...I really wish there was a block button on here because the petty bickering between @Radio & Fenix is really ruining Fightclub...With that said...

I am happy to be picking a person for three different companies...

Xenomorph Alien- The Alien would spring out of nowhere...Doc's arms would automatically detect it and grab it...Otto not knowing any better would begin to rip it a part...the blood would splash all over his tentacles...completely melting them...then a defenseless Doc.Ock would become a new chestburster host...

Darth Vader- Telepathy is all Vader needs for a win here...throw in the lightsaber and it's all over for the alien who wears his undies on the outside...

Punisher- I can see @Loud's point...but I agree with @DGill...Frank would never let her get close enough to be affective, while waiting for the perfect moment to put her down...

Sub-Zero for the battle...Seeing the lead Vampirella has makes me weep as much as those complaining about Batman...

Why do people get mad when other express thier opinion. No where is it set in stone that certian charactors can't be defeated. Batman may or may not be able to beat Daredevil or Captian America or Black Canary beating Punisher. There is a reason they call it a personal opinions no matter how many comic facts one person bring to the table. And Also on that point comics are ever changing fact with certian thing retcon into and out of existance every decade or so. No one hero or villian is unbeatable or else comics wouldn't be fun to read. In any fight powers are not the only defining point in the battle wits and strategy also play key roles or people like spiderman couldn't take on Electro or Sandman which both or clearly more powerful then Spiderman. In closing these or just peoples opinions with no real merit of right or wrong just people mad at the fact that people don't agree with them.
