Bohemian Geeksody

Bohemian Geeksody

Marvel, DC, Vampires, Video Games...it's all here in the tune of Bohemian Rhapsody, rewritten and performed by The Gorgeous Geeks, because we are what we say: geeks.

We needed something to express our passion/frustration with some of the shows that we love. Some have gone on, finished or was cancelled by the powers that be, but the big networks didn't escape the lyrics either. Check it out. It's totally worth it.

@DC1MARVEL: From "Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Seems Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody's been remixed a lot these days.

Here's one of my favorites that was done towards Star Wars:

PS @Gorgeousgeeks.... after watching it for a while, great job of your video btw.

Serious. One of the worst videos I've ever seen. Thanks for ruining my favorite song!!!

This is insulting to geeks. Cool geeks don't sing about Smallville, Vampire Diaries, and Fringe, none the less spend the majority of the video focusing on them. Losers do that.

I personally didn't care for the first half of the video with Smallville, Vampire Diaries and Fringe. Not that it's a slight against y'all, I just don't care for those shows. But the second half of the video starting with the Green Lantern bit was excellent. Overall it was very well written. Good job ladies, kudos.

Thanks guys. Sorry I forgot Dr. Who. I meant to, but it slipped my mind.

And to the haters, can't please everybody I guess.

@Spock,

Of course I knew that, Iron Fist and Shang Chi where both inspired by Bruce Lee's films. But Danny Rand was always meant to emulate Chuck Norris more than Lee, and Shang Chi was "Bruce Lee" set in the Marvel Universe.

@GG,

Sorry for being a hater, I don't mean to...I just don't think this is well done, the lyrics are a bit weak...better luck next time!

And when I see something called "Bohemian Geeksody", I expect things associated with being a geek (Star Wars, Comic Books, Anime, etc.), instead of less than quality shows that I have never seen a geek enjoy.

I'm sorry to be rude, looks like this took a lot of effort, if you had fun making it, I guess that is all that matters.

The lyrics seem like they were poorly put together, they just feel like they were crammed into place. Also, though I'm sure the voices are great individually, the harmonizing was too off for me to notice, it was honestly a little jarring. My only issue with show selection... Vampire Diaries? REALLY?

@Spock: What the hell kind of jerkish attitude is that? "hey I bet you didn't know blah blah geek snort". I bet you didn't know that the English language has an established set of rules for when you're writing something. It's called grammar and it's SUPER cool ;)

Spock - 5/20/2011, 4:35 PM
@ DeadWEBhead dude there was nothing wrong with my english, maybe I should try arabic!

@ DanielThomasRandKai not trying to be a jerk, just hate when people try to rip something that was creative & took time to do!

There are different types of geeks. I don't get how one type of geek can judge another. Some are Otaku some are into tech. Who are you to say one geekdom is better than another? I think it's funny to think that you're that cool to argue about what fits into your standard of geek.

And how does watching Smallville somehow disqualify anyone from being a geek? Anyone who knows us knows we bash it a little bit more than we praise it. Heck, the lyrics in this very song mock the show. "Clark needs no sympathy" with a clip of Tom about to cry, looking particularly pathetic and "What's a Blur?"

We still kept the Thunderbolts and lightening and the fandango lyrics and worked it in. We didn't need to make metaphors to blow anyone's mind. The song just is what it is.

And The Vampire Diaries is an awesome show. It's unpredictable, the plots are good, I enjoy the actors, AND it's one of the hottest casts ever for a TV show and they cast a lot of hot guest stars too. Honestly, it's one of the best things on TV right now.

A couple of weeks ago I posted an interview with Al Septien and Turi Meyer and when I asked them about the Smallville finale they said they loved it but they said "You can't please everybody". And though this statement is obviously true, someone actually complained about that statement because they thought the writers were setting themselves up to fail (but they only wrote the first part. The second part was what had some disappointing bits).

It's just true. It's not like this is an m3p that I'm selling. It's just a fun thing for youtube. I love it. I replay it a lot. It was VERY hard to do, because it's a difficult song with tons of harmonies with only two people singing on it. The very high note on "Marvel vs Capcom 3" was not easy to do for a lot of first sopranos and seeing that we're girls, the very low parts were harder too. Mad props to Queen. They're fantastic. They have so many wonderful songs. But we're just geeks having a good time.

But honestly I just wanted some more views, so I thought I'd share. So mission accomplished for me and we love it and we're pleased and so are our subscribers and I thank you guys again who spoke kind words. And for those unhappy, the only standard I had to meet was my own. :)
