Dark Horse Comic "Criminal Macabre" Picked Up By Universal

Universal Pictures has acquired "Criminal Macabre," the Dark Horse Entertainment comic book mini-series created by Steve Niles.

The Story centers around a supernatural detective who doubles as hitman, taking out all the vampires, ghosts and other unsavory monsters who live among humans, hiding in the shadows by day and emerging at night.

Dark Horse's Mike Richardson will produce with Neal Moritz and his Original Film banner. Kyle Ward is set to write the script.

What is it with all these horror noir comics being adapted for the screen? "I Frankenstein", "Dead Of Night," and now this--which actually sounds pretty identical to "Dead Of Night!" Anyway, let's just hope that they're good.
