Do you remember the time…?

Do you remember the time…?

When Michael Jackson was a hero.

The King of Pop has passed away on June 25th at the age of 50. These days, mixed emotions come from simply hearing his name. But a few scandals back, Michael was an actual humanitarian for donating money to various charities and for creating rooms for terminally ill children at his Neverland Ranch. In 2000, the Guinness Book of World Records listed him as the world record holder of “Most Charities Supported by a Pop Star". Here is a list of known charities Michael has supported in his career:

-AIDS project L.A.
-American Cancer Society
-Angel Food
-Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles
-BMI Foundation, inc.
-Brotherhood Crusade
-Brothman Burn Centre
-Camp Ronald McDonald
-Childhelp U.S.A.
-Children's Institute International
-Cities and Schools Scholarship Fund
-Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation
-Congressional Black Caucus (CBC)
-Dakar Foundation
-Dreamstreet Kids
-Dreams Come True Charity
-Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation
-Juvenile Diabetes Foundation
-Love Match
-Make-A-Wish Foundation
-Minority Aids Project
-Motown Museum
-NAACP
-National Rainbow Coalition
-Rotary Club of Australia
-Society of Singers
-Starlight Foundation
-The Carter Center's Atlanta Project
-The Sickle Cell Research Foundation
-Transafrica
-United Negro College Fund (UNCF)
-United Negro College Fund Ladder's of Hope
-Volunteers of America
-Watts Summer Festival
-Wish Granting
-YMCA - 28th Street/Crenshaw

Quickly following his death, the rumour of Michael staging his death has spread worldwide on account of his financial difficulties that followed his alleged scandals. Honestly, if you put judgement aside and logically put the facts together, his health was never all that remarkable and his sold out come back tour would have single handedly taken care of his financial downfall.

Now whether he truly is dead or whether he truly did commit the crimes he was accused of, no one will ever know. There is an old saying that says “There is a sucker born every minute”. Over the past, the tabloids have built an entire industry over that saying where as Michael was never truly “proven” guilty. Of course the way we will remember Michael is relative to everyone however, the facts are undisputed. Michael was more of a hero than most of us will ever be. And that is the Michael I choose to remember.

Past or Present Michael, you deserve to rest in peace.

Sirprize- Maybe cause i added his comic book... i dunno. I would have liked to read them.

Thanks Hawk :)

I just think it sucks that it's not on the front page. Farrah made it but not Michael? Even since he was in the comics and video games? Weird...

Thanks LastSon and great post Bohemiben. Let's all of us be honest here, there is not one tune that pops on that radio to this day that has the same impact as one of Michael's classics. The man wasn't just a popular bloke for his time, he was and still is after his death THE KING of pop!!! I honestly can't wait till they get his "Anthology" album following his death as i have always loved his music but never bought an album of his before. It will be my first. The radio stations were greatful enough to always play his music regardless of the new trends that came and went.

Its ok SirPrize it happens. I thought about posted it, but didn't want to take the time to do it. But MJ was a legend dispite all of the children stuff that was going on. He didnt' just donate to charities, He also plenty of video's that he made to make people aware of these bad situations. Man in the Mirror in deed!!!

Good article Shaman. Be back to get caught up on everything I've missed over the past wk. School is so tiredsome!!!!!!
