Favorite Heroes of CBMs

Favorite Heroes of CBMs

All right, this is simply a get to know the CBMers around you kind of thing, you'll list your top 5 favorites heroes and, if you're up to it, you'll state how you became a fan of the hero. This is only to fix the horrors of Marvel vs. DC and mend us in holy nerdness. I'll start us off....

1.) Superman

The big guy was the first hero I was introduced to. He's the first hero I ever heard of, saw, read or fell in love with. I could always relate to the Clark Kent persona and I always saw myself in him. I also love the fact that he refuses to let himself be pulled into the darkness and kill or use brute force.

2.) The Flash(Wally West)

I fell in love with him through Superman's animated series and the Justice League. As a member of the Justice League, he was the most powerful, but by watching it you wouldn't know it. He always goofed around and made a funny comment. He reminds me a lot of myself. Always on the brightside of life, never looking back or worrying about the consequences involved.

3.) Cyclops

I'm not going to lie, I thought he was a dork and fell in love with Wolverine the first time I watched X-Men just because it was the cool thing to do. Wolverine was 'badass' and Cyke was too nice. The older I got the more I fell in love with Characters like Goku, Superman and Cyclops and the less I felt for the Wolverine, Batman and Vegetas of fiction. I couldn't relate to the rouge lonewolf, I was more the boyscout one woman, never too extreme kind of guy.

4.) Thor

Hello, Thor is badass. He's a lone wolf, but he doesn't think he's better than everybody around him, he IS better than everyone around him. He's a god. Also, he speaks in Shakespearian tongue. That's badass enough for my taste. =D

5.) Deadpool

Didn't like him at first, but he's quickly gaining popularity in my books. He's the only comicbook character that can actually break the fourth wall and knows that he's in a comic. He's just as hilarious as Wally, but he doesn't take himself seriously AT ALL. He's like the itch you can't scratch.

Well, CBMers, there's my top 5. Now, let me know yours. Don't be rude either, people. No Nakedman, his sidekick Nakedwoman is welcomed though.

My top 5 are:

1.The Punisher - As I have gotten older the more he has appealed to me and if I was thrown into the same circumstance I would feel pretty much the same as Frank does about the world.

2.Batman - After the 89 movie Batman just seemed much cooler than he was before.

3.Wolverine - What can I say about Logan the guy is the Ultimate Badass killing machine.

4.Blade - After that opening scene in Blade 1 my jaw hit the ground, I did read a few Blade comics before the movie and he seemed really cool but after the movie he became one of the most awesome characters I have ever seen.

5.Spider-Man - He was my fav when I was a kid and I still love the character to this day but when I started discovering some of Marvel's other characters he slipped a little down the list for me.

telavizion - Sorry but I don't agree Batman should remain at DC it's where he belongs same with Superman, Marvel already has many characters too similar to them anyway.

I've never been very decisive on this topic. I love the Big 3 equally in different ways.

Spider-man- Way back in kindergarten, I remember coming home every day and turning on the tv. It would always be somewhere in the middle of Spider-man the animated series. The second step in my road to becoming a big Spider-man fan was the movie. I was in 5th grade (I think) and I had never loved a superhero movie as much as I loved that. Now I'm a nitpicky fan and can critique various shortcomings of that series but back then, the movie was just perfect. The next step came some time after Spider-man 2. I was still in love with the series when I was in Barnes and Noble one day. I saw a trade paperback called Ultimate Spider-man: Hobgoblin. The hobgoblin looked very different from what I remember from the animated series, but it looked interesting. I read the back and it was the story of Harry Osborn becoming the a goblin, just like what I knew was going to happen in Spider-man 3 eventually. I had to read it just out of curiosity for how it played out. I ended up falling in love with the story, the world and the interpretation of the characters, so much so that I went back and read every USM leading up to that and eventually started following it monthly. (my first comic series) I eventually moved into the 616 Marvel universe reading Amazing while still following USM. To this day, I've never felt a strong connection to a comic book character than I do to Ultimate Peter Parker.
(wow that was long)

Batman: Batman was kind of always around when I was little. I had action figures, I sorta knew the movies, owned Mask of the Phantasm, but didn't really watch much BTAS until I got older and it was on DVD. I always liked the character watching him in the various DCAU shows, but I don't think I fell in love until Batman Begins came out and I read The Long Halloween shortly after the release of the DVD. I loved both and The Long Halloween is still my favorite graphic novel. Once I was a fan, I started to collect the season DVDs of BTAS, gaining a love and respect for that show.

Superman: Superman was another one who was always around. My earliest memories of Superman are of Dean Cain on Lois and Clark. Of course, like Batman, I watched him in various DCAU shows. Eventually I got hooked on Smallville, but near the beginning I think I was still going through a little anti-Superman phase. I'm not exactly sure what took me out of this, but I gained a new level of understanding for the character after reading Superman Birthright. I was simply blown away. There's something about the great history of this character that I think is very cool to get into.

BIGBMH - I never really cared for Superman but for some reason I really want to see a great epic Superman movie that will make me love the character. Superman for some reason just wasn't a character that appealed to me but I always wanted him to appeal to me. Hopefully Zack Synder can bring that Superman movie I have always wanted to see.

1. BATMAN - Just because its always great to see a character beat the bad guys using his brain 90% of the time.

2. SUPERMAN - The first superhero ever. And his powers are just legendary and fantastic.

3. SPIDERMAN - The teenage superhero who everyone can identify with because of his everyday problems.

4. CAPTAIN AMERICA - A superhero invented in a time where good and evil was black and white. Today's villains have a lot of shades of gray. His idealism is infectious.
