On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world's biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary and Mary from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets' former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10-million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit the Frog reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.

In addition, we now have a new poster for the film (see if you can find Kermit above Amy Adams' head), and yes, it is a Muppets poster!

The Muppets arrives in theaters November 23rd, later this year!

Plot as listed in the summary sounds rather derivative, but it's Muppets. It could still be a lot of fun. I loved the Muppet Show as a kid, and it would be cool for a new generation to find these great characters.

This film definitely bears keeping an eye on it.

Man, I hope this film is as good as the trailer. The plot sounds awful: The Muppets reunite to stop an evil oil tycoon from buying the old Muppets theater. (This is virtually the same exact plot as the 2003 [2004?] NBC Muppets Christmas special.)

But, Jason Segal wrote it, and he's awesome (he wrote Forgetting Sarah Marshall).
