Hard to believe, but there hasn't been a feature-lenth film based on Charles Schulz's Peanuts since 1980's Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown. This new 3D/CGI film should be quite respectful to the source material as Charles Shulz's son, Craig, is one of the producers. The film was/is directed by Steve Martino, who previously helmed Ice Age: Continental Drift.

For the first time ever, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang we know and love from Charles Schulz's timeless "Peanuts" comic strip will be making their big-screen debut; like they've never been seen before in a CG-Animated Feature film in 3D.

I like how they kept it flat, more along the lines of how the comic strip and original cartoon was. It is just an upgrade instead of a complete overhaul.

I love it. I can't wait for this. I think the art direction they took with it is a perfect way to modernize it yet keep it the same.

Looks great, I love the design for the 3D. If you're wanting a 2D film... eh that artform is almost dead for major film productions. It's odd because now they don't gross as much as a CGI 3D animated film would but thankfully CGI animation is so far advanced that it's a whole new artform in itself.
