Fox has given early series orders to the comicbook drama "Human Target." The network wouldn't officially confirm the pickups, as execs want to hold off until Monday's upfront before making any series announcements. But insiders confirmed the orders Tuesday afternoon of "Human Target" and "Sons of Tucson."

The shows join animated "Family Guy" spinoff "Cleveland" and music-themed drama "Glee" -- which gets an early premiere on the net this month -- as Fox's new fall shows picked up so far.

"Human Target," from Warner Bros. TV, Wonderland and DC Comics, revolves around a man who assumes the identity of people in danger. Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot and will exec produce with Brad Kern, Peter Johnson and McG. Mark Valley, Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley star.

This is a really cool comic series, i hope they take some stories from the books. They also mentioned many characters and locations from the dc universe and i think once chance actually was hired by alfred to pretent to be bruce wayne. A lot of possibilities and stories, too bad its on Fox, it will get canceled on or before the first season is over.

Didn't they say they where going to do some Moon Knight show last month too, Ill believe this when I see it on my TV, just seems like fox is buying up all the rights to everything hoping to turn it into the next big thing by murdering the source material. Also the story sounds like that horrible show The Pretender.

MARVEL has said that for the last 3 years about MOON KNIGHT, also there's X-FACTOR and some SKRULL CREW thing!

I say yay to HUMAN TARGET!!! (1000 times better than Pretender, infact HUMAN TARGETS been around a long time).

Yep your right though @ YOHON @ I'll believe it when i see it too, when its on TV! ; )

Read this if you haven't. If you're into crime, espionage, or mysteries. Milligan did readers proud with this one. I've only read the first three stories, don't know if there are more. All great stuff though. Read in order if possible. If you like bendis' crime books, azzerrello, the daredevil series, things like that... it's right in that vein. Smart and well drawn.

LEEE777--I read once that the flash tv series was too expensive to make. I loved it too. "Dont do it Barry! Your metabolism will take a beating!" She was always so concerned. ha

@Yohon Kalic Yeah I remember the Gen X movie. I think I still have it on tape somewhere. That is still my favorite series (if you couldn't tell by my avatar) but that movie was pretty horrid. Emma Frost and Banshee were pretty good tho.

@rorchach01 Love vertigo too but never read this one. Wish we would get Shade the Changing Man.

Yeah BETTY @ lol! An it was too expensive to make? Never heard that, but i can believe it man! It was a quality show, better than most, its a real pity! It came out after BATMAN 89, funny thing is BETTY ive just downloaded the whole series from iso hunt! It'll still hold up to today's series easy if not more!!! Damn shame.

Killian @ Emma Frost was horrible in it (but, i suppose 10 times better than the one in WOLVIE lol), but Banshee was cool, so was Skin an the dark girl, whats here name?

MARVEL should get on the bandwagon an get a NEW MUTANTS series done, damn i mean FOX! Still it should be good even from them! (Cant use the movies anyway).

@LEEE777 I think you're referring to Monet St. Croix or "M". Most of the chicks were bonnerific now that I think about it. Or maybe its just cause i was 13.

I know this is off topic but, hey Killian its really good to know someone out there is a big fan of Generation X. It was my favorite title as a kid. Marvel needs to bring back some of those mutants.

Umm...not to sound old or anything, but wasn't there a Rick Springfield show about this exact book on ABC back in the '90s (I think). It wasn't that bad if I remember correctly, but it did not last.

Just found out that ABC actually already had a Human Target show... Check out this quote from "Don Markstein's Toonopedia"
-
"The Human Target next turned up on TV. Mirroring his back-page status in comic books, he was merely a summer replacement — seven episodes, which aired on ABC starting July 20, 1992. Christopher Chance was played by Rick Springfield. The TV version differed from the comic book in several ways. The character was fleshed out a little by making him a Vietnam vet, he was given a team of assistants, and he operated out of a large airplane, where clients would hole up during the operation. Also, to make his services more accessible to common folks, the TV series set his fee at 10% of the client's annual income."

Interesting. I wonder if the rights to the tv show will cause an issue, or if they've passed hands officially.
