I've been to New Zealand, and let me tell you that what he says about the food is absolutely true. ^_^
Also, I loved Pans Labryrinth and LOTR, but I'm not so sure of combining the two...that is to say, I love del Toro as a director, but I'm not so sure how I feel about himdirecting The Hobbit. He's a very creative person which is good, but it might get in the way of properly adapting Tolkien's vision.

Well, in fairness, Jackson put his own spin on quite a few things in the LOTR movies himself, and they came out great.

Pans Labyrinth was damn near a perfect movie. I was blubbing like a baby at the end...almost;). Dr Strange would be a great fit for him..as would The Inhumans!

I think Guillermo is a blessing to this franchise and can only make it better, especially when teamed with Peter Jackson. I am getting chills now just thinking about the spiders in Mirkwood and how frightening Del Toro will make it, and then I think about the Goblins in the Misty Mountains and how dark and tribal they are going to be, and the Wargs! and Smaug! oh shit, then the spiders again. This movie will be spectacular!
