Jack Kirby's Fourth World Explored Over at EM

"The Fourth World" is the popular name given to a metaseries of interconnecting comic book titles written and drawn by Jack Kirby and published by DC Comics from 1970 to 1973. The characters and concepts were later integrated into the DC Universe, and all of it is explored at Earth's Mightiest.

Published as the newsstand distribution system for comics began to break down, Kirby foresaw a day when comics would need to find alternate, more legitimate venues for sale. Toward this end, Kirby envisioned a finite series that would be serialized and collected in one tome after the series had concluded.

The three original titles comprising the "Fourth World" were The Forever People, Mister Miracle and New Gods. The pre-existing title Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen was used by Kirby to introduce the Fourth World concept and characters.

Jack Kirby was the pioneer for just about everything comic book! If it wasn't for this guy and a few others, we might not have had these wonderful books and movies that we all love!

I want to see a New Gods live action movie....NO INTEGRATION with the Movieverse(if they ever go through with it)...just these characters interacting with people from that title....if you think Thor will be Epic....this would be Cosmically EPIC

Jack kirby is the freaking King plain and simple!

Go ahead mention anyone else you want, and Jack Kirby is still their daddy!

It is absolutely amazing to me that no one has made a live action or animated movie totally dedicated to these awesome characters?

Could the Kirby family lawsuit have something to do with it?

I certainly hope not because it's way, way, way past due for these fantastic characters to hit the big screen!
