GMA Network has officially announced that actress Marian Rivera is
THE NEW DARNA in the upcoming new Darna tv series from GMA-7
GMA Films president Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar and GMA 7 executives, Wilma Galvante, Lilybeth Rasonable, and Marivin Arayata announced that Marian Rivera will star in the newest installment of Darna, the superheroine.
Ms. Wilma Galvante further clarified that "Darna" starring Marian Rivera will be a solo project for Marian and not the previously planned "Captain Barbell Meets Darna".
However, fans of Captain Barbell need not worry as Ms. Galvante also said that Captain Barbell will make guest appearanced on "Darna". The Marian Rivera announcement was also graced by the children of the Darna creator Mars Ravelo, Ruby Austria and Zaldy Ravelo.
The new Darna TV series also introduces child actor "Buboy" Villar as Ding (Darna's sidekick/brother).
