Mickey Rourke Is Not Letting Up, Says Immortals Isn't "Some Marvel Piece Of Crap"

We have already heard quite a bit from Rourke on his dissatisfaction with Marvel after playing Whiplash in Iron Man 2. And he doesn't look like stopping, in fact he's stepped it up in an interview with io9...

Ok, I have been a supporter or Rourke's refreshing outspokenness on this but even I have to admit that whether he has legitimate beef or not he needs to just let it go now. There is a big difference between bravely expressing yourself and bitching. As he continues to promote Immortals the actor's latest interview, this time with io9, features his harshest criticism of Marvel yet..

io9: So a lot of it is finding the right director who you feel comfortable with?

Rourke: I try to find the right director who won't compromise his or anyone else's integrity, and yet be political enough to give the studio what they want yet put up a fight to maintain that integrity. So we're not watching some science fiction [frick]ing wham bam thank you ma'am Marvel piece of crap.

This guy seems VERY bitter about his experiences with this studio. Clearly he doesn't care what anyone thinks of this but he really should learn a lesson from his last little hiatus from Hollywood. I still think the man is a great talent and will obviously not let this put me off seeing his movies, but yeah, time to move on Mickey. Anyway whether you agree with him or not Rourke is very interesting in the full interview so be sure to click the link below to check it out.
