Dylan Dog: Dead of Night is a big screen adaptation of the mega-popular Italian comic book series Dylan Dog created by Tiziano Sclavi. It stars Brandon Routh as Dylan Dog, a human paranormal investigator living in New Orleans who is tasked with keeping the supernatural creepy-crawlies living in the shadows all around us in line.

Dylan Dog will be Routh's third comic book-inspired role —he starred as Clark Kent, aka Superman, in Superman Returns, and had a supporting role as Todd Ingram in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World—and director Munroe has had nothing but praise for his portrayal of the character:

Dylan Dog is a character that brilliantly mixes charisma, affability, and hard-driven principles. I couldn’t be happier with Brandon’s portrayal—he meshed all of those aspects into a charming action hero, funny as he was ass-kicking. I can’t wait to share his work with the world.

Here's the official trailer, in case you haven't already seen it:

Dylan Dog: Dead of Night also stars Sam Huntington, Taye Diggs, and Anita Briem. The movie opens April 29th!

I just noticed that there's a big Legend-looking demon shadow on the wall to the right of Routh in the international poster. Perhaps a little too subtle...

This reminds me of Constantine a bit too much.

@FrankGarret: Agreed. With fewer production values.

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY: Heh.

Maybe the difference between this and Constantine is that maybe Brandon (compared to Keanu)can put together a sentence on screen. Maybe.

@Sweep- Funny, I thought Keanu actually did better on screen than routh. Routh can barely form a full sentence.
