This from EW...

The $4 billion deal won’t affect Paramount’s distribution arrangement for five upcoming films, the studio announced, including the highly anticipated Iron Man 2 and Thor. “Paramount Pictures has enjoyed a productive and fruitful relationship with Marvel Studios from the start of our distribution agreement in 2005,” the statement began. “So much so, we announced a five-picture slate distribution deal last year which includes worldwide distribution rights for upcoming films: Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, and Iron Man 3. This distribution deal will be unaffected by today’s transaction. We look forward to continuing to work with Marvel and, with today’s announcement, to working with Disney to replicate the incredible success of Iron Man on all our future collaborative projects.”

I would hope that the content and integrity of what Marvel was bringing to the table won't be altered in a bad way.

Things will be fine. The movies aren't going to be drastically changed. Pirates of the Caribbean were all PG-13 movies. Some people are really over-reacting.

See, and everyone is screaming about the Avengers and Cap not getting made.

ITWT, I agree, and further more, what the [frick] was wrong with Pirates people?! They were AWESOME pirate flics and the little fantasy world created there is great! I can't wait for a 4th... and 5th if they ever get made. Yes, I even liked At Worlds End, even with it's convoluted finger pointing lol, I thought that was something done on purpose for a bit of comedic effect and meant to make as much sense as Jack Sparrow himself. I was laughing in the theater at it, and not in the 'this is retarded' manner either.

So does that mean if they do Avengers 2 or Captain America 2 that Disney would be in charge of those. That sucks!!!

Cool, well thats good to know there will be no fighting to mess up future movies. Now if they would only release a trailer for Iron Man 2, get into pre-production on Thor and cast Captain America, Bucky and Red Skull and I (and most of you) would be a lot happier :)

@InTylerWeTrust
Yea Im the same, why the [frick] did they put such a crap plot, too many characters and a BLOODY WOMAN MADE OUT OF CRABS into the third movie. It had so much potential after the first two brilliant movies. I still loved Johnny Depp in it and Keira Knightley is damn hot

@TheMyth
I would love to see a new Pirates movie but only if it has Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush as the main stars in it and they were a comedy duo all through the movie looking for the fountain of youth. An easy to understand plot like the first movie would be nice and maybe another hot, good actress to replace Keira Knightley as I really don't want to see the return of her or Orlando Bloom. Who do you guys think would be a hot and GOOD actress to be in Pirates 4?

Good news? We'll see. This only refers to the distribution deal between Paramount and Marvel Studios. The film making process is controlled by Disney now. We'll see how long they'll remain affiliated if the films start to suck!

i dont get it either griff. they finally gained the financial and creative independence it seemed they always wanted. then just when they do so they sell. its either just the all mighty dollar or they were in some financial problems we didnt know about. and disneys stock is actually down so im surprised they had the capital to make this deal.

I really wouldn't blame Marvel. If your company was offered a 4 BILLION DOLLAR deal, would you say "No thanks"?

I think thats the main thing everyone is worried about. Just hoping that the products and projects of Marvel wont get watered down or neutered. Hopefully Disney will continue to let Marvel be the entity it is and play to the core audience it always has, if for nothing else for the money that they can continue to bring in.
