Ah yes, arguably the most talked about topic about movies as of now...why is Hollywood making so many Remakes, Sequels, and Reboots? Now don't get me wrong, there are some good remakes....
But then again, there are some bad ones...
When it comes to Remakes, some are good do redo, but others would just really grind your gears. How would you feel if they remade the entire original Star Wars Trilogy? Or the Indiana Jones trilogy? Personally, I'd punch some key members of Hollywood in the face. Last year, we the audience were BOMBARDED with Remakes!
Don't believe me?
-Wolfman
-The Crazies
-Robin Hood
-Dinner For Schmucks
-True Grit
-Alice in Wonderland
-Edge of Darkness
Sequels even...
Harry Potter
Tron
Toy Story 3
Shrek 4ever
Iron Man 2
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the Majorty of those listed above, I still really wasn't appreciating the lack of Ideas. It may be true about Pixar, one of the best studios in the industry, has truly run out of Ideas. Toy Story 3 was awesome yet they could've thought of something else. Its not like they HAVE to release a movie once a year. Take your time, and think of something up. But instead, they ran with Cars 2 this year. (Which i took my nephew to it and it was terrible by the way)
It is becoming clear that audiences are growing tired of remakes and certain sequels. Grant it Super Hero movies do get good remakes, reboots and sequels. Esepecially for The Hulk. Ang Lee's version sucked bad, and Norton's flick was wayyy better. But for other movies out there...Hollywood just needs to leave them alone.
There have been speculations and rumors flying around the web recently stating that a remake of Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, The Godfather, and even BACK TO THE FUTURE is close.
Wow Hollywood. Wow. Way to be dicks to us.
I do not believe that Hollywood has run out of Ideas, but they just don't want to do anymore simply because they believe sequels and remakes will bring in the most cash. Well if this continues, there will be an uprising.
But hey...thats my opinion. I wanna hear yours.
So as always:
