According to Movie Pilot, Marvel recently filed trademarks for the following properties. Granted, it’s not indicated whether these are comic or movie related trademarks, but given how some of these properties have been around in the comics for a while, and are an outright odd bunch – is it worth looking into? They would certainly be interesting, and seemingly reveal some projects we certainly weren't expecting...

Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Guardians Of The Galaxy are expected, but Alpha Flight? Black Panther? Strikeforce Morituri? A little further digging on Movie Pilot’s part indicates that the projects all have some relevance to Marvel Studios. The upcoming Big Hero 6 is an Alpha Flight spin-off, and Strikefiorce Morituri was in development as a TV show at one point!
“And finally, the oddball of the bunch, Strikeforce Morituri. This one definitely caught me off guard and had me baffled for a while until I found this TV series information: In 2003, the Sci Fi Channel announced it was developing 1000 Days, a live-action TV movie and backdoor pilot based on Strikeforce: Morituri, in which near-future soldiers gain enhanced abilities but die 1,000 days later. Written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, it was a Reveille Productions and Marvel Studios co-production executive produced by Reveille head Ben Silverman and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad and Rick Ungar. Waterman Entertainment optioned the series, with the initial plan being to start production in December 2011.” - MoviePilot
The full article is definitely worth a read, so head over to Movie Pilot to find out more about the trademarks. Again – this could, and probably is, nothing – but it’s fun to speculate! Marvel’s next live-action property to hit the big screen is the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, which is set to hit theatres August 1st, 2014.
In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan. In order to evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a group of misfits including Gamora, Rocket, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy's fate in the balance. Guardians Of The Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin. Guardians Of The Galaxy opens August 1st, 2014.
