Shrapnel To Be The Next Comic Book Movie!

Hollywood Reporter is saying that Len Wiseman will develop and direct a movie adaptation of the sci-fi graphic novel Shrapnel for the company Radical Pictures.

Shrapnel is a sci-fi future where humans have colonized the solar system and formed a Solar Alliance to govern the planets (Which will probably happen lol). The storyline focuses on Venus, which is the last free colony in the system and is about to fall. A self-exiled former Marine fights back and teaches the colonists just how to do so too.

Nick Sagan and Zombie Studios chief Mark Long created the property. Radical principal Barry Levine will produce with Wiseman and Mark Gordon. Long and Radical's Jesse Berger will executive produce the project.

Being developed as a live-action film, a 3D approach is considered possible. Also a video game is planned with Zombie Studios.

Len Wiseman will also helm the studio's adaptation of the comic book movie "Atlantis Rising" for a summer 2011 release and has plans to direct the video game adaptation "Gears of War" for Legendary Pictures and Warner Brothers.

Wow Wiseman is getting busy with the adaptions...looks like my idea of him doing batman could be possible if he doesn't fill his schedule to much.

This is awesome news BTW I will go see anything by Wiseman, since Underworld he has become on of my fave directors plus the man is married to Kate Beckinsale so maybe we could get to see her in one of these.

@LEEE...I'm with you man, the day I see a 40k movie released will be a good one indeed! You couldn't be more right, gold mine in the making, and they could go almost any way with the story/characters (marines, guard, tau, chaos) and it could still be great. I think I would cream the proverbial jeans for a Gaunt's Ghosts series of movies!!!

Haha ohh, and that Shrapnel thing looks kinda cool too. ;)
