THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Actress Anne Hathaway In Negotiations To Star In Sony's Live-Action BARBIE Movie
Last we heard, Amy Schumer had dropped out of Sony's planned live-action Barbie movie, but the studio has an Academy Award-winning replacement in mind in the form of Anne Hathaway. More past the jump...
Amy Schumer was forced to drop out of Sony Pictures' Barbie flick due to a scheduling conflict, but the studio is reportedly in talks with Anne Hathaway (Colossal, TDKR, Interstellar) to come on board as a contemporary incarnation of the iconic blonde-haired doll.
According to The Tracking Board, Alethea Jones (Fun Mom Dinner) is the current frontrunner to helm the picture.
Though things may have changed when Schumer departed the movie, Sony originally envisioned the adaptation as "an imaginative family comedy", using the likes of Splash, Big, and Enchanted as templates.
The Barbie movie will be produced by Walter F. Parkes, Laurie MacDonald, and Amy Pascal, and is set for a June 29, 2018 release.
