I understand that many users on here will indulge in just reading the articles, or will occasionally dive into the comments, or hell, some of us even write some fan fic now and then.
If you're doing all of, or even just one of those things, you're missing out. Why you ask? Well you're missing out on CBM Chat. It's where a lot of users gather to shoot the shit.
When I first joined this site, it was due to my domestication, and my newfound responsibilities which keep me at home more often then I used to. I was going stir crazy! I had nothing to do, so I started just jumping down the internet rabbit hole. After a couple weeks of just checking the site out, I decided to check out chat. First couple of days I was like "Who are these crazy people and what are they talking about?!"
The reason I thought that is because for a site like CBM, we forget that there's so many different elements, and even though it's CBM Chat, it's like a sub-culture in a way. Sometimes it's intimidating, and for others it's a lot of fun. So you may feel intimidated, but I'm here to calm your mind and give you a reason to at the very least check it out!
10. SUPPORTING EACHOTHERS ENDEVOURS
Sometimes you think, hey maybe I should do a cool article
(like our boy JD did) or you think well maybe I can make a stupid but fun video (like our boy Heis did) and other times you just want to write some fan-fic like a maniacal machine (I'm looking at you Doom).

Even for myself, I wanted to do a podcast (PLUG!) and found that I've had CBM users such as JD, DrDoom, and Lozzy on regularly. It's because we support eachothers endevours and whatever you do, you know you can bounce it off us and we'll give honest feedback. Where else can you get that level of support!? I don't think your mom wants to read your Daredevil fan cast.

9. You'll Learn About Movies And TV Shows You Might Have Never Watched
There's been a few times in chat where someone has name dropped some movie or TV show and I realized I've never seen it. I had never watched The Room until JD suggested it, I had never seen Pumpkinhead until Heis told me about it.
Sometimes it's fun just to learn about other facets of nerd culture. You should never be satisfied with exactly what you have. It's fun to broaden your mind and try new things. CBM Chat definitely encourages this forward way of thinking
8. It's Not Moderated (And It Doesn't Need To Be)
CBM Chat has a nice blocking system. Which eliminates the need for a moderator. I will share thee a story of how the CBM Chatt Community overcame a large and tremendous monster, the ever fabled
CHATZY TROLL.
It was a cold Winter's eve, and all was abuzz in CBM Chat. There was talk of TASM, and someone talked about how awesome Guardians of the Galaxy will be...then out of nowhere, a might troll appeared! This troll spammed the CBM Chat with unwanted and idiotic messages. With our combined might and that of Nail, the Chatzy Troll was banished to it's realm, never to be seen or heard of again.
This is exactly how it looked.
7. People Care
Sometimes you have a bad day and no one would care, but not CBM Chat. I've broken scotch glasses, dropped nachos, and many other shitty things happen, and when you go to CBM Chat. People will understand your plights and generally make you laugh and forget about that disaster you have in the kitchen.
Screw this, I'd rather chat with the boys.
That said...
6. Keep Your Composure
No one goes overly into detail about their lives and it's all for the best. We don't need to know that your brother is evicting you and you may be a homeless guy in wizard garb in front of a 7-11...sorry, but it's true. We all share, but we don't overshare. You may want to spill your guts, but be thankful you're not on the other side of that, it can be a messy and awkard situation.
5. Games
Sometimes we'll play games, like trivia. It's a fun way to test your skills.
4. Intelligent Conversation
Sometimes we talk 80's cult movies, sometimes we talk about sitcoms, but no matter what we're talking about, it's always insightful. In chat, spamming is not the means to respect, saying something insightful or funny is. Respect.

There's a lot of inside jokes, to many to list *sigh* I guess sometimes you just gotta figure those out by blaring some Nickelback, talking to us, and getting to know us :)
1. It's Just Funny
If you have a sense of humor, there is seriously a lot to love in CBM Chat, sometimes it's a cheesy joke, and sometimes your sides are hurting, but you'll be laughing. If you're sort of humorless, I don't know what to tell you...find a sense of humor?
