Warner Brothers is going back to Jellystone Park with a Yogi Bear picnic lunch sequel. Moving forward right after their hit 2010 release.

Variety's reporting that the Studio's signed the writing team of Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia (two of the writers behind the first movie) to script the sequel project and will be again produced by Donald De Line and Karen Rosenfelt with exec producer Andrew Haas, also Jon Berg's overseeing.

Yogi Bear performed better than expected, making a $100 million in U.S. grosses and grossed another $100 million internationally.

Yogi Bear is the popular Hanna Barbera animated character.

LEEE777 - Well can't say I've seen the first one yet, but come on, Hanna Barbera... Wacky Racers needs to be done!

E-mail, this is a comic book (many times over)... unlike GAMES OF THRONES???

Who wants 10 articles of X-MEN in a line?

And it is even more so than say HARRY POTTER that has no comic book connection.

So logic is BSG okay, because you like that but what you don't like is another matter?

the standard has never been "it once had a comicbook"...you could say that about almost anything but doesnt mean it should be on this site. Harry potter is clearly more in line with what this site covers than yogi bear, obscure japanese t.v. shows, and the smurfs.

"They did, but what gets me WB can do this but no FLASH, WONDER WOMAN, AQUAMAN, GREEN ARROW etc???"

Those require some effort to pull off. This, not so much.

Just because something has had a comic book doesn't mean we automatically have to start covering it. I know that I first signed up to CBM to read about superhero movies. Not Yogi Bear and The Smurfs.

This article is better than some of the shit you other "editors" put on this site. Stop bitching. This is defintaly better than more First class news and I remeber that picture ror posted on main of batman that was like 5 years old and definatly not news.

This website does say Comicbookmovie.com and im pretty sure this was a comic given picture above. If you dont like the article i have to agree with lc on this one. Dont click the link.

This site is spiraling down a toilet bowl so fast its not even funny.

I'm kind of surprised at some who are questioning this being relevant when they have gone out of their way in the past to support other less-than-comic-booky news on this site. I joined the site because I like comic book hero movies, but was well aware it is Comic Book Movie.com and not Super Hero Hype.com. Does Yogi Bear interest me? Nope. Does Twilight and Harry Potter interest me? Nope. It's all part of the grander scheme of what this site is about so if those kind of movies are okay, why not a movie based off an actual comic?

CBMfan001 - 5/27/2011, 8:23 AM
this was one of those movies that surprised me,the trailers looked horrible and so not funny,I was forced to watch by a friend of mine for his sake, but the actual movie was very funny and had a great enjoyable time watching it during Christmas season.

so not bad news for me :)

@ josh and Ror-why not I went to see Yogi Bear with my neices and nephew, and most likely will take them to see the second one. So now that I know that there is another one thanks to Leee they will be happy.

Yogi bear is a children's cartoon and quite possibly the worst reviewed movie of the last 10 years. But hey, I know how to have fun too! Check out my Twilight poster and Gidget: A Look back article under news.

Isn't this just peachey keen!!
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 5/27/2011, 9:11 AM
Ror@ Dylan Dog fared worse in reviews than Yogi Bear. ;-) Oh, wait a minute...that was one Lee was promoting too! :-P Kidding Lee! Just ribbing you some.

Yes, Yogi Bear is a child's cartoon and it is a child's comic book. That shouldn't qualify it as not being considered valid comic book movie material, especially considering the long-standing history of the comic.

Thanks for the comments @ Guys, much appreciated!

Yup its ComicBookMovies not SuperHeroHype!

That site sucks lol.

(Okay the fisters do)

Whoah I thought MultiPurpurpus Poni came back lol.

I'm not arguing with no one, its a comic book movie end of... and certain ppl saying it shouldn't be posted, nor should comic book news in main, I've done a lot of that but at least I don't post it in main.

Anyways thanks for the comments.
