WWE held its annual Extreme Rules PPV last night, and while there was plenty of big talking points to come out of the show, comic book fans have been going crazy over Charlotte Flair's ring gear.

The Queen was putting her RAW Women's Championship on the line against Alexa Bliss, a supernatural character who has been tormenting the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair for weeks now. That might explain what she chose to wear for the match, as her normal outfit was "infected" by the Venom symbiote.

Clearly inspired by the upcoming release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, this is a badass look for Flair and one that definitely fit the aesthetic of the Extreme Rules event. Later in the evening, Finn Balor returned as "The Demon" to battle Universal Champion Roman Reigns (things didn't end particularly well for him in the main event, and you can read more on that here).

There are a lot of shared fans between the pro wrestling and comic book worlds, and many WWE Superstars have donned costumes and ring gear inspired by the Marvel and DC Universes over the years. However, Flair's take on Venom is one of the most memorable efforts we've seen.

WWE doesn't have any sort of promotional deal with Sony Pictures to hype up Venom: Let There Be Carnage as far as we know, so it's likely Charlotte is a fan of the Marvel Comics character.

WWE is in the midst of a ratings war with AEW, so keep checking The Ring Report for updates!

@TheMandalorian - It's very obviously supposed to be the Venom symbiote.

And this is why I rarely click on Josh articles. He suckers me in and then makes me click to another articles of his to see the pics. I've been a regular reader on this site for a decade or better and used to read every single article.

When the first hate for Josh came up I didn't really see it and just thought is was petty of the other members to say it, but as time went on it's a no brainer that he will do anything including creating fake profiles like Ruby Goldstone and the other male writer that after going back over 6 weeks of articles I can't find his name. Makes me think he scrubbed that name and just put his real name in there or took down those articles. I'm starting to wonder if he didn't replace that guy with Daniel Klissmmann, but I haven't seen enough of his articles yet to see if it's the same writer or not. It's also interesting that after all this time of the Ruby Goldstone that "she" isn't listed on the about page of the site.

@batmbl - A few things: this is standard practice with promoting content on the sister sites and it happens maybe 2 or 3 times a month? My apologies if clicking a link would have taken longer than writing your lengthy complaint.

The theories about me being Ruby, Hamilton, and now Daniel are getting mighty old, and as for that "About" page...it hasn't been updated since before I met my wife in 2017. In fact, that photo is, like, 7 or 8 years old. Good theory, though!
