John Malkovich Signs On For Red

Reported at THR's Heat Vision, John Malkovich has signed on for yet another comic book movie, DC comics adaptation Red. Looks like John is getting that comic book itch with the recent news of him playing the Vulture and also appearing in Jonah Hex as well.

Already cast in Red based on the Warren Ellis's comic series is Hollywood heavyweights Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren and now it looks like John Malkovich has come to the fold.

John C. Reilly, exited from the role Malkovich has just got in late December. The part Malkovich is playing is a retired a CIA agent, a contemporary of Willis', who is erratic and paranoid that everyone is out to kill him and joins Willis in is quest to find out who wants them dead.

Red is the tale of a retired black-ops agent (Bruce Willis) who must contend with younger, more high-tech assassins who show up to try and kill him.

Directed by Robert Schwenke and also starring Mary-Louise Parker, Julian McMahon, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine and Brian Cox.

Principal photography begins this week in Toronto.
