Red is a film adaptation of the comic book mini-series published between 2003 and 2004 and created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner.

It follows the story of Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent who is now living a quiet, secluded life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive.

After two months of production in Toronto, Canada, the cast and crew begin filming tomorrow in New Orleans, LA. According to OnLocationVacations, the filming will be at the 1500 Block of Magazine Street, NOLA on 3.25 & 3.26 between 8 am – 6 pm

The film is being directed by Robert Schwentke (The Time Traveler's Wife) and is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 22, 2010.

MPP - I love cloak and dagger movies, and with a cast like this film has assembled I definitely won't miss out seeing it.

I think it would be a little hard to make a movie out of a 73 pages comic book. I guess a lot will be add. But I also think that the premise is good and Bruce Willis is a spot on cast.

Fantastic cast! Add in Ernest Borgnine, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfus, John Malkovich, Julian McMahon, Rebecca Pidgeon and James Remar. You can't ask for much more in a cast.

5th Element is just one of those under-the-radar classic movies like the Princess Bride, Army of Darkness and Big Trouble in Little China. You just got to love them for what they are and so many people didn't even see them.
