Christophe Beck To Score R.I.P.D.

The RED composer has signed on to re-team with director Robert Schwentke on the supernatural action film R.I.P.D., based on a Dark Horse graphic novel and stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.

Film Music Reporter says that composer Christophe Beck - whose recent credits include Tower Heist, Due Date and This Means War - has been hired to score Universal Pictures’ supernatural action comedy R.I.P.D., which is based on Dark Horse Comics/Peter Lenkov's graphic novel of the same name. The film is directed by Robert Schwentke and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Mary Louise-Parker. Beck has previously worked with Schwentke on another comic book adaptation with 2010's RED.

The story follows a cop (Reynolds) killed in the line of duty and is recruited by a team of undead police officers working for the Rest In Peace Department, and then tries to find the man who murdered him (Bacon). Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi (Clash of the Titans) have written the screenplay, while Neil H. Moritz and Mike Richardson are producing the film.

R.I.P.D. is set to hit theaters June 28th, 2013.
