In the immortal words of Dr. Ian Malcolm, "
Life, uh, finds a way."
We're a little over halfway done with March and with three major blockbusters out of the way, we now look ahead to the weekend of March 24th, which will feature the release of both Lionsgate's
Power Rangers and Sony Pictures'
Life.
The
Daniel Espinosa-directed space horror film, for the better part of the last few weeks, has managed to fly under the radar, but with only a week or so until release, it's in prime position to surprise us all. Not much is known about the film's plot, save for the fact that it follows a six-astronaut team, led by
Jake Gyllenhaal (
Stronger),
Rebecca Ferguson (
Mission: Impossible 6), &
Ryan Reynolds (
Deadpool 2), who will discover alien life while out on a lengthy mission and will inadvertently put the future of humanity at risk.
On another note, an eagle-eyed
Redditor recently discovered that Life re-uses some stock footage from
Sam Raimi's
Spider-Man 3 for a crowd reaction shot. You can spot the scene in question at the 1:27 mark in the new trailer and if you revisit Spidey 3, the scene appears around the 34:45 mark.

Plus, here are four new international posters:
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research and their methods end up having unintended consequences, the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
Life features:

Jake Gyllenhaal as Dr. David Jordan
Rebecca Ferguson as Miranda Bragg
