In the immortal words of Dr. Ian Malcolm, "Life, uh, finds a way."

We're a little over halfway done with March and with three major blockbusters out of the way, we now look ahead to the weekend of March 24th, which will feature the release of both Lionsgate's Power Rangers and Sony Pictures' Life.

The Daniel Espinosa-directed space horror film, for the better part of the last few weeks, has managed to fly under the radar, but with only a week or so until release, it's in prime position to surprise us all. Not much is known about the film's plot, save for the fact that it follows a six-astronaut team, led by Jake Gyllenhaal (Stronger), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible 6), & Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool 2), who will discover alien life while out on a lengthy mission and will inadvertently put the future of humanity at risk.

On another note, an eagle-eyed Redditor recently discovered that Life re-uses some stock footage from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 for a crowd reaction shot. You can spot the scene in question at the 1:27 mark in the new trailer and if you revisit Spidey 3, the scene appears around the 34:45 mark.

Check out the new red band trailer and a new TV spot below:

Plus, here are four new international posters:

Life features:

Hiroyuki Sanada as Sho Kendo
Ariyon Bakare as Hugh Derry

Question: is there really a theory out there that this is secretly a prequel to that Venom movie that Sony's planning?

@TheNewGuy123 - That's a pretty ridiculous theory. I hope nobody actually believes that.

@BillMurray - Yeah it's such a huge reach. I'd believe it a little bit if Reynolds, Gyllenhall weren't in this lol. Other than that and unreasonable and out there theories, i'm pretty excited for this.

I gotta say.....if this was a venon prequel it would make this movie so more interesting because right now it sounds like a Alien copycat

@JoeMomma29 - it's probably not, trailer reveals he broke his arm when it attacked. He may still die first but I doubt they would, kill him straight after having him survive

I mwan they did reuse a shot from Spider-man 3 in one of the recent trailers. Maybe it's sonys subtle way of telling us this is the venom prequel.

Saw this trailer yesterday. Finally made this into a movie I'm very curious to see. Looks brutal. The first trailer just felt like the sort of movie we've seen so many times already. This trailer and the extended clip made it exciting.

Hearing all of the Venom theories, I kind of want them to be true. It'd be awesome to get a great sci-if/horror movie which has ties to Spider-Man and sets up a Venom movie.

That last poster looks hella photoshopped

Yeah this isn't a Venom movie. They would be advertising the shit out of the name and bankability of the Spiderman franchise. Comic book adaptations equal big $ these days and a studio like Sony would squeeze all the revenue they could out of it being linked to the Spiderman brand.

No, this is 'Flubber' in space.
Omega

Soooo we just saw an ending? the shit will land on Earth.
HubbleFunk
HubbleFunk - 3/17/2017, 9:05 AM
@Omega - Perhaps the trailers are midirection.. and the alien landing on earth could be the mid-point of the film...
Bread

@Omega - Not necessarily. They could defeat the alien in space and the survivors return safe to Earth.

Hey guys help out here. Today I'm watching Kong and Logan.

Should I stay till the very end of the credits for both movies?
HubbleFunk
HubbleFunk - 3/17/2017, 8:57 AM
@ODanil - No after credits scenes with Logan whatsoever, can't say for Kong
Omega

@ODanil - There is scene after credits in Kong Skull Island.
