POWER RANGERS: Watch Amy Jo Johnson & Jason David Frank's Original Cameo In This New Deleted Scene

While, for the most part, the Power Rangers reboot opted to steer clear of its iconic roots, it did manage to squeeze in cameos from two of the original Mighty Morphin series' biggest stars: Amy Jo Johnson and Jason David Frank, who played the Pink and Green Rangers, respectively.

Their cameo was certainly one of the highlights of the Dean Israelite-directed movie as they were spotted at the forefront of the onlooking crowd after the Megazord's triumphant victory over Rita Repulsa and Goldar.

Based on the film's current $140.2 million worldwide box office collection, it's unlikely we'll see a sequel, but if it's impending Japanese release combined with the impressive merchandise and upcoming home video sales can push Lionsgate (who were only accountable for about 25% of the total budget) to greenlight a lower-budget sequel, then here's to hoping Austin St. John, Walter Jones, and David Yost are all granted opportunities to cameo in any potential future installment.

With the film arriving on Digital HD tomorrow, JDF has shared a deleted scene, revealing his original cameo with Johnson and as fun as it is, it should become pretty clear why Israelite decided to go in a different direction as the theatrical version turned out to be a much sweeter reveal in a much more meaningful moment. Check out the deleted scene below:

Plus, check out a new Blu-ray featurette and seven spoiler-y clips from the movie, including the actual cameo from Johnson and Frank, below:

One of the best films to come out this year! I only wish they would've stayed just a little closer to the roots but the cast was so damn endearing, particularly Billy. I actually liked the fact that we really got to know and fall in love with these kids before they ever suited up.

Is Amy Jo Johnson single? How old is she? I'm waiting for that sweet spot where her looks begin to fade and she questions her self worth.

That's when I move in.
