Newsarama were at the Cup O' Joe panel at the New York Comic Con today and they have details on another new ongoing Star Wars comic book series which will be published by Marvel next April. Star Wars: Kanan will kick off with a story by Greg Weisman and Pepe Larraz which is titled "The Last Padawan". The series will explore the Star Wars Rebels character's past, kicking off with Order 66 (so roughly around the events of Revenge of the Sith). According to the site, the first arc in Star Wars: Kanan follow will follow the titular character's escape from the extinction of the Jedi and his origin while on the run as a trainee. An interesting way to flesh out the animated character, eh?

Also below is a low-res look at Skottie Young's awesome three-part interlocking variant covers for next January's three Star Wars comic books. Are you guys looking forward to this new series?
