Phil Lord And Chris Miller Reveal How They'll Be Credited For Their Work On SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY

When it was first revealed that Phil Lord and Chris Miller would take the helm of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the reaction from fans of the franchise was overwhelmingly positive. The filmmakers had made a name for themselves with the Jump Street movies (which went a long way in turning around the career of Channing Tatum) and The LEGO Movie, an animated feature which far exceeded expectations.

Unfortunately, their love of improv didn't sit well with Lucasfilm bosses and Kathleen Kennedy made the shocking decision to relieve them of their duties halfway through the shooting process last year.

Ron Howard was quickly brought on to direct and while it's thought that at least some of Lord and Miller's work
remains, the vast majority has been reshot by Howard, turning Solo into a very different beast. So, what credit will the filmmaker's receive on the upcoming movie? "We were really proud of the many contributions we made to that film," Miller said at the third annual GLAS Animation Festival on Friday. "In light of the creative differences, we elected to take an executive producer credit."

That's a surprise but is also probably indicative of just how much Howard has changed Solo and what little of the tone and style they brought to the table remains. What do you guys think of this news? Should they have received a co-director credit or have they made the right decision? Sound off below.
