And the winning bid: $37,500!

All of the proceeds from the auction benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

................

Also a pair went on eBay, bids for the shoes are already going for over $75,000 for one pair.

The shoes do not self-lace, like Michael J. Fox's do in the film, nor do they require a wire down the leg and battery pack. They, do, however, light up with vivid blue LEDS in the soles and glow for five hours per charge.

Every day, 150 of the shoes will be auctioned via eBay, with proceeds going to the Michael J Fox foundation, which helps sufferers of Parkinson's disease. The auctions will continue to run until September 18. Don't expect to have to pay out huge amounts for every pair; smaller sizes are selling in the $3,000-$4,000 range.

This is bull shit. $3-$4K is still a lot of money.

It's for a good cause and this is a good way to roll them out. But I think they should mass produce them and make them more affordable so they could raise even more money for Parkinson's research.

Wow, not only are they pointless since they dont tie themselves, but there ugly as hell.

Im with the "wheres the hover board". That would make more sence in terms of spending $37000.

Wait a minute, wait a minute...you mean to tell me...they sold a single pair of light up replica Back To The Future 2 Nike MAGs that DON'T auto-lace for $37,500?!

Whoa...this is heavy.

:)

(P.S. WHERE'S MY GOTDAMN HOVERBOARD?! You'd think with all the Nazi tech that NASA has they'd have been mass producing these things for decades now!)

@Blazin - Your ass is the one in need of correction. Greengo was entirely right in saying $3000-$4000. If you'd like to take your ass back up to the article you'll notice that smaller pairs are selling for that price. Greengo was only insisting that that is still too much money when compared to $37000. Your welcome, now your ass is that much more knowledgable :)
