As we know, Lost writer Damon Lindleof's script for the Alien prequel was very well received by Fox, and its being said it could even be an Oscar contender. Now some details have leaked thanks to Whats Playing
(who have since removed the story from their site, so the below is taken from Cinemablend) who got a look at the script. The film will focus on the Space Jockey from the first film as we know, but there i so much more to take in here! Read on if you don't mind spoilers..

The tone is described as being hard science fiction meets psychological drama with romance. Or as their(Whats Playing) scooper calls it “Brokeback Alien”. In this case the Space Jockeys are actually called “Growers”, friendly aliens who travel from one planet to the next terraforming. They encounter two male human slave farmers who, apparently, they use mind control on to force them to have sex. Pretty weird, right? It gets weirder. They’re trying to get the humans to procreate, and have no idea that it won’t work, because they’re a single sex species.
There’s also a human crew involved, with the usual assortment of Alien universe badasses. There’s the tough as nails, possibly lesbian, African American butch chick named Oliver. They predict Zoe Saldana would be a perfect fit for this. There’s another female character named “Trucks” too, and this was the role Gemma Arterton was rumored to be up for.
The origins of the Aliens is explained as well. Apparently they are part of the Growers terraforming process until something goes awry.
No mention on which characters the rumored Natalie Portman, James Franco or Anne Hathaway might play though. Well, it certainly sounds interesting. I'm glad they seem to be going a different direction with this and trying something a bit more challenging. If nothing else, between this and Darren Aronofsky signing on for
Wolverine 2 it suggests that Fox are starting to think outside the box a bit. Now lets get that
Deadpool movie going eh guys? Oh, almost forgot, Whats Playing say that they hear Ridley Scott has met with Lance Henriksen, who played fan favorite Bishop the android in
Aliens, for a possible role.
