First ALIEN: COVENANT Set Photos Feature Charred Corpses And Familiar PROMETHEUS Imagery
The first set photos have been revealed from Alien: Covenant, and they offer up a look at a mysterious alien landscape, plenty of dead bodies, and a giant head you'll no doubt recognise...
Prometheus was met with something of a mixed response when it was released back in 2012, especially as it in many ways failed to live up to the initial promise that it would explore the origins of the Xenomorphs and lead up to the events of classic sci-fi horror movie Alien. It's exciting then that Ridley Scott will deliver something along those lines in Alien: Covenant starring Michael Fassbender.
Unfortunately, the X-Men: Apocalypse star is nowhere to be seen in the first set photos from the movie, but we do see what appears to be the charred remains of the warring Engineers along with a destroyed version of one of those massive heads from Prometheus. Scott has promised we'll see the Xenomorphs in this movie too, so how these different elements will fit together remains to be seen.
A synopsis for Alien: Covenant was revealed last year, and it teases this mysterious location: "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."
