Avatar: The Game - Behind the Scenes Featurette

Empire has debuted a featurette for the video game that includes brief interviews with Cameron and producer Jon Landau. Very cool.

Yeah, I'm not excited at all about this movie, and could care less about the game.

Im not at all excited about the movie (the film trailer was definitely nothing special IMO) and like every movie tie-in this game will probably suck!!!

WE'VE ALL SEEN IT, THE TRAILER, THATS WITHOUT 3D..WITHOUT. IMAGINE SEEING IT BUT 3D...WHAT WILL THAT BE LIKE? THIS IS JAMES CAMERON, THIS IS THE GUY THAT STARTED CGI, AND PEOPLE FOLLOWED HIS LEAD, NOW HE'S SAYING 3D IS THE FUTURE AND YOU HAVE EVERYONE FOLLOWING HIM,LOOK AT ALL THE 3D MOVIES COMING OUT.

well it's not hard to be better than 9 or terminator Hinkley, although the visuals in 9 looked great the story was rather anticlimactic. I'm trying to keep an open mind, but it's hard to escape the comparisons to video games like halo. I don't know it just seems that whenever i see a movie and my first reaction is, " I bet this would make an awesome video game!" the movie isn't tthat great.

It looks good, but what about the actual gameplay?

...the gameplay will be key in whether or not this game will succeed.

Otherwise, I'm not convinced, yet. Most movie-to-game adaptations fail. That's just the cold hard truth about it.

HINKLEY- Stop talking smack! We're bashing this film cause it's really not blowing up our skirts like they said it would, PERIOD! This shit is way overhyped and aside from it being 3D, it offers NOTHING that we haven't already seen in Aliens, Terminator, Predator or many passed fantasy films. You got blue people from a different planet defending they're home from a human invasion, woopdy freakin doo!!! Just to spice things up, let's put a human's consciousness into one o'them blue people's bodies. Oh be still my joygasm. It's freakin' lame and the very fact that they overhyped this film up our asses for the last 2 years makes it even more pathetic. If it was the "in" thing to bash a hyped movie, wouldn't i be bashing M. Night Shawarma's Air Bender film as well??? I [frick]ing hate M. Twit Shamalamadingdong and i was a fan of the show so one would think that i would be prone to bash it, no??? WRONG!!! From the little teaser they showed us, it looks like he did a spectabulous job and i can't wait to see the movie! I give credit where credit is due! Cameron's piece of shit deserves none!!! Oh wait, we should all get on our knees and suck his shlong for inventing CGI and just love ALL the pieces of shit he dishes out on account of that??? Are you baked out of your freakin bucket?!?!?! Or is it just the "in" thing to bash film bashers that don't follow overhype like sheep???

Alright, you do raise a good point. But judging from the fact that you chose to say what you said under the previous posts, no wonder i took it personally. If you read all the comments again you'll see that no one said this movie was going to be shit. Okay, maybe i did in replying to your comment but my true opinion on it is just that the trailer we saw sucked and that they really REALLY overhyped it to the point where it does it no possible good. And i'm not getting my opinion from everyone else's. That is a fact. IMO, "too much" has always been like "not enough". Saying that bashing this film is the "in" thing is the same as saying "according to the continent of Asia, the "in" thing right now is to eat rice." It makes as much sense as me telling you that "disagreeing with the majority is the "in" thing to do right now". You can't prove that people just say "it sucks" because some people did at first and then it became the "in" thing. Sometimes, great minds think alike regardless of the current trend. This movie could very well be the best movie ever made. Right now, they're practically labeling it as that. But their producers are trying to sell it with shitty trailers. Hense the overhype. If it truly is the best film ever made, then show us the best trailer ever made! Then, the hype will be qualified as adequate.

Yes i'll definitelly agree with you on that. You're right i have noticed some pre-hating just because someone thought it would suck mainly because the concept of their favorite animated series was brought live action to the big screen. They bashed it out beyong recognition even before seeing set picks.

Also, you have a point about Twilight. Some people just bashed it cause it was geared towards teens. I myself never bashed it until i actually saw it. It being geared towards teens DID make me not pay to see it but when i did finally see it... well... i posted a huge rant about it on my DeviantArt page if you're ever up for a litteral slaughter LOL :P

As for Avatar, i honestly think it looks decent just no way in hell a "revolutionnary concept". Now i'll agree that James revolutionnd the 3D filming process with it but everyone overhyped it for us to think that it was the actual film that was going to be revolutionary. That was my major dissapointment with the trailer. But you are correct in saying that visually it still looks good. I won't go see it in theaters cause i'm very selective and so is my budget but i wouldn't cringe at the idea of buying it in a 2/20$ bin ;)
