With James Cameron's "Avatar" being released in theaters before the year is over, the marketing push has been initiated and the most recent attempt can be found through the viral site sponsored by Coca Cola Zero.

Once on Avtr.com you can find a blog, introduction video from the recently announced villain played by Stephen Lang and several other features connected to the film.

With the addition of the viral site, a video commercial from Panasonic shows some added footage not shown several weeks ago in selected IMAX theaters. The footage is a rather brief one and is not intended solely for Avatar purposes, but is instead to display the LCD's capabilities in the commercial.

In the commercial if you're wondering, the name of the actress is Koyuki Kato who played Tom Cruise's love interest in Last Samurai...by the way, the commercial isn't in English.

The best way to decipher the two is this

Manga is considered to be the Japanese version to what we call comic books. Each panel leaves them (the artist) with little space to display an image. The background of the character doesn't need to exist.

With anime, you need a background because the characters must be developed in some sense of the word. Anime is japanese animation but a majority of people interchange the two by making anime and manga seem to be exactly the same when they're not. For example, we have the Bleach anime that is subbed each week for the American audience by Tuesday evening. For this anime and many others, you get "filler" episodes and this stems from the anime show catching up to the material found in the manga (comics) so to slow down the anime's progression, they create non relevant and sometimes relevant stories from the main story of the anime.

I for one loved both Appleseed releases. Guyver is cool also and I enjoyed watching Vampire D years ago.

Since you're into anime, I'll drop you a few updates when I come across them

Amusing that LEEE & Tea are having fun, but you dudes need to get back on topic!??

This stuff probably wouldn't be as amusing if it was on a Captain America or Thor article???

Are you guys genuinely looking forward to this film to see if it'll live up to the hype or are you guys having an interest based off the subject matter?

Is it really a "viral" site if they announce it?

Whispers: I'm looking forward to the film, mainly for 2 reasons.

1. I get to go to NYC to see my first IMAX 3D movie.

2. I want to see whether the film is actually good or not, as it has been racking my brain for a while, right now I'm not so sure about it.

@intylerwetrust 82

Welcome to NY's IMAX 3D arena. I've seen about three films in 3D there and many more in the conventional IMAX release such as TDK, Transformers, etc. But please go to the "real" NY IMAX theater and not that filth posing as IMAX on 42nd Street. You're paying the price you would pay at a "real" IMAX theater and that's totally unfair. It has the IMAX logo but trust me, it isn't. The best way to put it, I have an older brother and we are in the same family...same last name, similar features but we are not the same person.

Please don't spend your IMAX dollars there

I also want to see the film because not only because I'm into it, but because I'm interested to see what Cameron's been up to the last few years. I really really have this weird thought the movie will not meet my expectations and that's based on the media stamping it as this "revolutionary, it'll change everything about 3D cinema" seal

I'm patiently awaiting this "revolution" to appear in theaters this year

@Teabag

That was seriously too funny...as I looked at the main character and back at the image of yours, I couldn't help but laugh and think about all the cats Cameron went through to find the perfect match
