Battlestar Galactica Prequel Series Caprica Draft Posters!

Battlestar Galactica has been a seventies sci fi series, an a rebooted series, as well as books, comic books, video games and many more things, now its a prequel Syfy series too!

Io9.com asked Syfy about these posters, and a spokesperson said, "We routinely and confidentially research numerous concepts which are not limited to the images you have inquired about."

So there's 2 sexy posters featuring Zoe looking mysterous and sultry, not to mention naked... it doesn't scream "cybernetically resurrected girl," but it does seem intriguing at the very least. And the "one million consequences" thing is curious.

And then there's the "huddled naked figure" poster, which has an adult (I think) in a fetal position — suggesting cloning or something else. For some reason, this poster is the most "science fictional" looking to me.

The other 3 posters seem much more "soap opera" or "thriller" like, with the emphasis on "two families." The ones with the heads of Joseph Adama and Daniel Graystone, and all the weird writing going between them, looks more thriller-ish, whereas the others seem more soap-operatic. And then there's that weird floaty apple, symbolizing forbidden knowledge.

All in all, there seems to be a dichotomy between "sexy/mysterious science" and "drama about scowling men."

Thanks to io9.com.

Caprica is premiering in 2010.

LEEE777 - Well i saw the pilot and i really liked it, i just hope this prequel series can try to be what Battlestar Galactica was, [frick]ing good! ; )

It will probably be terrible like the re-imaged series was after the first season. At least here not everybody will be a cylon, hopefully.

I really love the Zoe with the apple poster. It seems like very modern yet seductive. I love how the image makes it seem like Zoe was the original Eve and started a chain of events. The 6th one feels like it goes with the Zoe and apple poster. I'm excited to see the series in January

Thanx @ ROR! Im hoping this'll have the same thought and effort as BSG got, an we get a damn fine series an yeah i know what you mean with the pilot, i liked it too but it needed that little something more, im glad it got picked up though, this and HUMAN TARGET are the two shows im looking forward to the most next year.

Number21 @ How can you not liked the re-imaged series, with all the crap on tv, BSG was a lil Gem the four short years it was running, though yeah lol, lets hope not everyone's a cylon.

Jenn @ Cool, yeah i cant wait till JAN too, man that ain't too long away, wtf happened to 2009 guys lol??

Tea, regardless of what channel it aired on, its still widely regarded as the best of all time, look it up if you don't believe me.

Wards, yeah but we already knew about 8 of them so that wasn't a surprise. The end was..unexpected, and when i first saw it I was disappointed but after watching it again it sort of grew on me. I still would have preferred it went a different way but what can ye do, after 4 seasons of genius they have some lee way with me.

A battlestar galactic show with no battlestar or galactic won't do it for me.

Yeah, they should've spun it off into a FEATURE FILM to tie everything up, but what can you do, BSG was Top Quality Entertainment, i for one really miss it.

I think anyone that moans about CAPRICA needs to go back watching their GOSSIP GIRL & ONE TREE HILL, this shows gonna be good!!

FORT @ Cheers! lc @ Lol!

In the final season of BSG they talked about a cylon model that was named Daniel. Cavil ended up killing all of them long before we ever got to meet anyone on the show. I noticed one of the main characters in Caprica is Named Daniel. Maybe? Probably Not.

lol, tea i wouldn't dream of trying to change your mind! Just pointing out that im far from the only one that thinks its so good.

Kel, I think your right about that, or at least, Daniel will be the final creation of Eric Stolz's character. I don't remember if anyone called Daniel has been introduced yet...

Fun shmun, we can watch plenty of shows for for that. Do they all have to be Bayed down? A serious sci fi show the caliber of BSG is rare. If i'm in the mood for fun i watch Seinfeld.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 9/30/2009, 9:45 AM
haha. And what is "fun" anyway? I found BSG fun! It entertained me and I was invested in the characters. there were space battles and fist fights galore. Just because there wasn't a a little Daggit running around looking like a reject from the teddy bear factory doesn't mean it wasn't fun.

@LEEE777 Unfortunately you are right is was the best Sci-fi had to offer at the time. But they had one entire season without a viper/cylon raider battle. I was so pissed that season. I don't mind drama but I have to see sh-t blow up. The first season was awesome my favorite episode "33", was great. And Ron Moore stated at the start of the series that they would "never find Earth". Well he lied and the series died.

Logan X, your stupid.

What season was that number 21?
Joe6Pack74
Joe6Pack74 - 9/30/2009, 8:14 PM
@Rorshach01 I think it was season 2.5 or 3. It was the season when they had the mutiny on the fuel refinery ship. They kept exploring the human factor of long space flight on enclosed ships. My opinion it was just not an exciting season. It could have been better, like how Razor was awesome. Action, drama and blowin stuff up.
