First Official Still From Total Recall Features Colin Farrel As Quaid

We have already seen some set pics, but here is the first official look at the Total Recall remake which also gives us our first look at Colin Farrel as the character Arnie played in the original, Doug Quaid..

The pic comes from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, from which we have also aggregated about 450 Spidey pic from today too! Anyway In the mag Farrel says..

"The tone will be much less jokey” than Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s 1990′s sci-fi hit. He says, “there’s not as much tongue-in-cheek” and that he wouldn’t feel comfortable delivering lines like ‘Consider dat a divorce!’”

Aww, I was looking forward to hearing that! Here is the official synopsis and cast list..

"Welcome to Rekall, the company that with one little implant can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Doug Quaid (Colin Farrell), the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his ordinary existence. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. With the line between fantasy and reality blurred and the fate of his world hanging in the balance, Quaid goes on the run to discover his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. Based on Philip K. Dick’s classic story “I Can Remember It For You Wholesale,” this brand new take on some of his most visionary ideas is directed by Len Wiseman and stars Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho and Bryan Cranston."

Great. Another film that didn't need a remake featuring another actor who shouldn't be acting. Since the original wasn't really that great I think that makes this "fail cubed".

We don't need a remake of a film that isn't even that old.

"Consider dat a divorce."? Don't remember that. Oh! You mean "Considuhdahta divorce." I gotcha.

Watch ignorant people call this movie a ripoff of Bourne Identity and Inception.

@Clarkkent1985 They can't replace Evil from the original Fright Night. What ever happened to that dude? Too many remakes man. There needs to be a 30 year limit before they can remake anything, and then it needs to go before a panel consisting solely of people from this site. lol

I cant see why they would remake this one. I wouldnt consider this a "cult classic". Hollywood is really running out of ideas. Im not going to hate too hard until I see the final Product but I coulda done without this one. FAIL to the 4th power.

This is a great science fiction story. Seems too early for the remake, but I bet it is a win. I dig COlin FArrel, good acting chops (usually).

I still don't get why this movie needs a reboot. They did a great job with the original, the only thing that looked fake in it was that one girl's 3rd tit

I hope this reboot all happened in a virtual vacation, so I can wake up and it won't exist..
Just Kidding.. I have to wait and see if it will be good, can't judge by one image..
To all those who think Colin Farrell can't frontline a great movie, watch In Bruges..
