Jane Foster Offered Lead In Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity!

Well, Natalie Portman! I used her Thor character's name because Portman is the third CBM lady to be linked with the much sought after lead role in Alfonso Cuaron's new sci fi movie, Gravity..

The other two? Carol Ferris(Blake Lively) and Black Widow(Scarlet Johansson)
. They have both apparently been considered for the role in the past. But now it seems that Miss Portman, Who we will see charm the helmet off Thor in Ken Branagh's big screen outing for the Thunder God, has been offered the lead role to take or leave after her critically acclaimed performance in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan. According to The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Business..

As Darren Aronofsky's psychological thriller rallied audiences at the Venice and Telluride film festivals last week, Portman has fielded an offer from Warner Bros. to star in the drama "Gravity." The lead in the epic survival story, co-written by Alfonso and Jonas Cuaron, has been a highly sought role for months, with Angelina Jolie pulling out of it recently.

The film's plot centers around a space station's malfunction, and the sole survivor's attempt to return home safely. Iron Man himself Robert Downey Jr has signed on in a supporting role. So if Portman accepts, this will be one CBM fans will want to keep an eye on. Also, word is from Telluride, where Black Swan screened, is that Portman's stock has risen considerably and she will be in for lots of awards contention at the end of the year. Another great boost for Thor's credibility.

Gravity is expected to shoot at the end of January,

might be ok. im not super impressed with the premise but portman should do fine in the role. however she has no breast so...thats a downside.

So, are we in for another wooden, lackluster performance?I think so.

People on this site can be ridiculous, there is a very brief plot synopsis of the movie that spans all of one sentence and people are already bashing it.

Apparently its also a bit of a horror movie! I love all of Aronofsky's films so I can't see why this will be any different.

Gravity, well like Ryguy says its too early to tell. I like the director and it seems to have a great cast.

Nice choice of picture in the article ROR, lol! Black Swan just became my most anticipated movie of 2010! ;D (although I was looking forward to it anyway knowing that Aronofsky was directing) It's been great listening to Portman talk about Thor though so I hope she takes this role...I think she'd be my preffered choice over Scarjo or Lively anyway.

So, technically, she would be the 4th CBM actress up for this part. As much as Angelina Jolie disgusts me, she was still in Wanted, which was a CBM.

Prisoner of Azkaban was the first good Harry Potter movie, and Children of Men is one of the best films of the last ten years, and maybe one of the best sci-fi's of all time, so I wouldn't worry too much about the quality of this one.
