Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along – her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

Not 100% sold on Tatum, and his look in this film makes it even harder to take him serious. More so than usual.

But hey...it's a sci-fi space-opera.
It's worth a casual look at least.

Can't wait.
This is supposed to be their first trilogy since the Matrix.

At least this looks like scifi that I can take seriously. I'm looking forward to it a lot more than two hours of wisecrack one-liners and corny comedy with Guardians of the Galaxy and its talking rat and trees.

Plus Terry Gilliam is in this in a scene that pays homage to one of his greatest movies, Brazil. That alone is worth the admission price for a must see for film buffs.

@Bravado - No, only the good ones are! Everything else is Dr Who level cheese and campy crap or contrived into spectacle based Hollywood action comedies its feeds the masses who can't deal with anything else, regardless of what the source material was.

"Can't wait.

That will depend on how it performs.

Keep in mind that their movie 'Speed Racer' was supposed to have a sequel too before it bombed. Had it done well it could have also been a trilogy.

A lot of movies could have been trilogies but weren't.

Movies gonna be shit. Tatum can't act and Kunis can't act well enough to carry her own film. Shit casting.

Sounds pretty formulaic to me. How many sci-fi flicks are there where there is some young chick who has a special destiny and ends up with some guy as her protector against all that want to prevent her from fulfilling that destiny? Quite a few. Perhaps a Netflix watch for me.
