BLACK PANTHER Standout Danai Gurira In Early Talks To Join GODZILLA VS. KONG And STAR TREK 4
Hot on the heels of those new Godzilla 2 photos, a new report has revealed that Black Panther star Danai Gurira is in early talks to join Godzilla vs. Kong and may also be up for a role in Star Trek 4!
Deadline is reporting that Legendary and Warner Bros. are currently in the very early stages of negotiations with Black Panther and The Walking Dead breakout Danai Gurira for a leading role in their upcoming MonsterVerse entry, Godzilla vs. Kong.
If/when her deal closes, she'll join a star cast that already features young up-and-comers Millie Bobby Brown (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) and Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2). Adam Wingard (The Guest) is directing with a script from a writers room that consisted of Lindsey Beer, Patrick McKay, T.S. Nowlin, Jack Paglen, John D. Payne, Terry Rossio, J. Michael Straczynski, and Cat Vasko.
Additionally, their report adds that Paramount is also eyeing Gurira for a key role in their next Star Trek film, the tentatively titled Star Trek 4, which has S.J. Clarkson (Marvel's The Defenders) on board to direct, and is expected to bring back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Chris Hemsworth as Captain Kirk's father for a time travel-based adventure.
Also, just to clarify, this is a separate project from the R-rated Star Trek film that Quentin Tarantino is concurrently developing.
