It might be quite a while before we get another trailer for the upcoming Godzilla sequel, but we do have some pretty cool new promo material to keep fans hyped for the King of the Monsters' triumphant return to the big screen.

Titan Books (via Bloody Disgusting) has announced that two new tie-in books will be hitting shelves in a few month's time: The Art of Godzilla: King of the Monsters by Abbie Bernstein will be released on June 4, while Godzilla: King of the Monsters – The Official Movie Novelization by Greg Keyes will be available a little earlier on May 31, 2019.

In addition, a series of posters celebrating the Chinese New Year have been shared online, and they feature colorful interpretations of the iconic behemoth and the four Titans he'll be doing battle with in the movie.

Check them out below along with the book covers, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Mothra

“Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions over the earth. They were told not to harm the grass or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind.”

Ghidorah

“They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss. A star fallen from heaven to earth, he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like that of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened...”

Godzilla

There are no Biblical verses to represent 'Zilla, but you can use your imagination!

Novelization Cover

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Starring Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters May 31, 2019.

The wait for this is killing me...

I hope this movie makes bank at the BO! It’s going to have some tough competition with Aladdin...

@MrNegative - ehh, not really sure how well Aladdin is going to do. Not sure how many people are dying to see that.

@HeavyMetal4Life - But Aladdin has Disney behind it. Their promotions for it will be crazy and aimed at kids and family markets.

The only advantage for the King right now is that the reception for it, so far, have been very positive and should be very popular across seas.

HeavyMetal4Life - 2/7/2019, 2:54 PM
@MrNegative - that doesn't necessarily mean it will be a success. Nutracker wasn't a success. Wrinkle in Time wasn't a success. Etc. etc. Even Mary Poppins has underperformed.

I generally haven't seen people excited about Aladdin online, and I'm not sure what the appeal will be to the general audience. Will Smith as a non blue genie? Yeah that won't put too many butts in seats.

Of the upcoming Disney releases this year, I can confidently guess that Dumbo, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, and Frozen 2 will be successful.

@HeavyMetal4Life - that’s fair and the director, Guy Ritchie, has a hot and miss track record but Aladdin is like Disney’s 3rd most famous animated film behind maybe lion king and beauty and the beast.

If the guinene isn’t blue I’m sure the movie will bomb lol

@MrNegative - haha I was being a little funny with my 'non-blue genie' comment, that certainly won't make or break the film.

We shall see. Perhaps the first look we got is not a good indication of the actual movie.
