Though we've obviously seen snippets of King Kong in action in the previous Kong: Skull Island trailers and TV spots, this latest clip from the film provides us with a great look at the simian behemoth clashing with one of the larger Skull-Crawlers that he shares the island with.

Is Kong stepping in to rescue Tom Hiddleston and co. here? Certainly seems to be the case.

Check out the clip below, along with new promo shots of Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson's characters.

A team of explorers and soldiers travel to an uncharted island in the Pacific, unaware that they are crossing into the domain of monsters, including the mythic Kong.

Starring Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Jing Tian, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham, and Toby Kebbell, Kong: Skull Island is set to be released on March 10th, 2017.

There's a physics problem here. I'm supposed to believe that an animal that big could land with that amount of force that close by and not one person would fall over from the impact tremor?

I'm not really digging those special effects... and I know King has to be that big in order to fight Godzilla, but he is just way too big in this movie

I dunno. Peter Jackson's King Kong and 2014's Godzilla are quite great enough for another such monster movie so soon.

This still looks awesome, but I'm getting a bit too reminded of the Jackson version (the landscape, the fighting, even the music somewhat).

I hate to go for a low hanging fruit of a joke, but here was what I was going to say, in all seriousness: [frick]ing Kong came down like John Cena to hit the Skull-crawler with a God damn boulder--shit was bad-ass.

Hope they're polishing up that CGI because it looks um...not good.

Jackson's King Kong had better CGI than this.
Except for the Brontosaurus stampede. That was shit

This movie ought to be pretty cool. Great cast. Still curious how Kong will square off with Godzilla. One, the time difference, but they surely have something planned to explain that already. Two, the size difference, but that's where the writers just get to be creative. But if they pull it off, the movie should be great fun. I really hope they don't neglect the fun in it all. Godzilla was cool, but should have been more fun (even as a monster movie).
